Again, putting it out there, this geezer is full of sh!t and will flog it for a profit. Did exactly this at the Euros - sold him tickets for the semis at face value because it's another R fan, and the people in the seats had no idea who he was. Absolute chancer

Pubs in Ealing

Rose and Crown is another cracking little pub. Cosy inside, big garden out the back, and in a nice secluded bit of South Ealing. Red Lion is nice as well - was last there during COVID when it was serving big takeaway 2 pint bottles of beer to drink in Walpole park

Cheers for the welcome all. Haven't tried the Dodo, but I'm only a stones throw so will have to pop in. You've also got the Owl and the Pussycat on Northfields Ave as well for micropubs, with a great cheese deli next door as well.

Definitely avoiding the Brewdog, although I do want to get well acquianted with the Guinness in O'Briens.

Pubs in Ealing

Bought a house in Hanwell recently, moving in next month so keen on this thread!

If you head down to Northfields Avenue The Foresters is run by Harry, the old landlord of the Crown, so looking forward to reuniting with him. The Grosvenor is a nice backstreet pub as well near West Ealing - all the football and live sport.

On the Wheatsheaf, I used to really like that pub. Great screen for the football at the back and the roasts were excellent. Last time I went in February though the food was rubbish - the style of the roasts had changed, so you were getting a wafer thin slice of carvery meat rather than a big chunk of pork belly like before. A lot of the menu had changed, so I can only assume it's under new management or a new chef, but really disappointing.

Statement just says proceedings ongoing but that could include an appeal, so both could be true.

Nice to see Root play his own game and stay in, exactly what the situation called for. He needed a score after a few poor showings - really disciplined on a dodgy wicket.

Jude-Boyd isn't going to make it. Barely improved since he was 18 and last time he went on loan he got 0 minutes and only made the bench once. Definitely time to cut ties

My brother (who follows all U21s games for work) really rates Salamon, thinks he's one of the few who has actually got a chance.

Don't want to see him anywhere near the England squad this summer. Not good enough anymore and an arsehole to boot. Hoping Gareth jettisons him, but not holding my breath.

To answer the original question, in two parts - the fact that they were in a relationship and she willingly got into his bed is irrelevant. Marital rape just as illegal as any other, despite pre-existing relations.

Secondly, he wasn't found innocent. The jury doesn't determine that the offence didn't happen, just that it couldn't be proved beyond reasonable doubt. To prosecute her for an offence such as perverting the course of justice, you would have to be certain that it didn't happen and that's she has lied in her statement.

Painkiller

This. Dopesick was a fantastic watch. Really heartbreaking portrayal of how the opioid epidemic spread, devastating so many of those communities, all aggressively marketed by big Pharma.

Not going to watch Painkiller because I don't see it topping Dopesick, and I've just watched the story through. If you have Disney+, highly recommend it.

For me, he's a modern day legend. I know we haven't won anything, but he's been consistently our most important player over the last 5 years IMO. Despite being a flair player, he's never sulked off and is always one of the hardest workers, closing in on 200 appearances, and came through our development squad to boot. Scored some absolute worldies as well along the way.

There's also the bit with Emma Thompson telling Liam Neeson to essentially get over his dead wife or nobody is going to shag him, THE DAY AFTER THE FUNERAL.

Great film - a whole thread of story being about the PM wanting to shag the help. They then thought they'd just run the same storyline but now make it where the maid can't even speak English. Just a little bit of light sexual exploitation for Christmas.

My team for Tuesday night

Kolli has been struggling with a knee injury he picked up in a recent International Break and didn't make the squad against Norwich, so I wouldn't count on him leading the line.

Armstrong has looked good for Ireland in the break, but that's typically from the wing. I'm not sure he has the skillset to lead the line up front yet IMO. Lacks the touch and movement (although so does Dykes if we're being honest).

I'd like to see more of the Illy/Willy combinations now they're both fit and available, so I'd reinstate Smyth at RW and drop Chair into CM with Colback and Field, with Willock LW. Dixon-Bonner over Colback is a fair shout, but with Chair at CM I understand opting for control and solidity here.

Eze contract?

I've got a pal who is a journo for ESPN and is usually pretty on the money with football bits. He's said that City are still interested and shelved their interest in the summer because the need wasn't immediate, but he's a long term target for them and he thinks they'll go back in for him.

Pathetic isn't it? Malan getting run out after Stokes' call as well, so disappointing as he was the only one of them who looked comfortable with the bat.
