Quassim Cassam of Warwick University is a leading authority on conspiracy theorists and how they think. To sum him up they are incapable of thinking logically and debating with them is a futile pursuit.

Warren Farm not happening
at 14:29 6 May 2020

As far as I am concerned this is the worst news the club have dumped on us for a long time.

At a time when Covid-19 is chomping away at the foundations of professional sport and our owners assets are disappearing before their very eyes do I believe they are intending to buy another site?

They may have an option to buy one. There may even be a non-disclosure agreement which conveniently stops further questions. But will they go ahead?

How gullible are you?

If you are trying to pause Sky Sports and keep ending up with the Technical Difficulties screen you may actually have succeeded without knowing it.

Jack Clarke
at 14:52 26 Feb 2020

Clarke's only good performance, in the last 15 minutes against Bristol City, when he was very good, was I think on the left wing when we were going all out for an equaliser. The rest of his appearances have I believe been on the right wing. Maybe something in that?

Anyway if you have faith in the 'team' that brought us Eze, BOS, Chair and Masterton we need to keep off the lad's back and be v.patient. Who knows?

Shocker: QPR Twitter has got it wrong again. Some silver linings from Saturday

Exactly.

Mr Whittingham has to make a living apparently and you don't do that by writing sensible balanced reports. Something to remember if you turn pro. Heaven forbid.

Panic over?
at 23:35 11 Feb 2020

There never was a panic, except for panicky people.

We have been playing OK. It's just the random nature of the Championship. Lose a few, win a few, depending on all the usual things - how the opposition match up/strengths and weaknesses, random events in the game, officials decisions and luck.

If they'd been any good in the air no doubt we'd have lost.
If their defence had been a bit weaker no doubt we'd have scored.

Nice sensible article. Keep doing this.

Mr Whittingham is far too depressing for my tastes. Most of the time he seems to hate football, the TV companies, the executives, the authorities, the finances and even the footballers. Reality can be boring but your take on things seems much nearer how things are.

Absolutely conjecture as far as I can see. Based solely on your own beliefs rather than any reliable evidence.

Wrong.

The authorities are on a fishing mission following the airbus fine. Looking for anything connected with their major customers. No doubt, in Air Asia's case, egged on by the Malaysian government.

Don't be daft.
They have stepped away for two months so as not hinder, or be accused of hindering, the investigation.

The Caterham was covered in the Airbus name. Why wasn't this a normal business relationship?

The prime minister of Malaysia Mahathir bin Mohamad obviously has it in for Fernandes
who chose the wrong side to back in the 2018 election. It's the way politics is in South East Asia.

My prediction - Nil effect on QPR.

15 more years of 'normal' cars left
at 14:01 4 Feb 2020

Interesting.

The consequences of climate change and gross overconsumption and pollution are going to change all our lives fundamently over the next 25 years onwards. Yet people are still making relatively trivial complaints about policies and problems with electric cars etc as they exist now.

I wouldn't buy an electric car now, but I doubt it will be many years before it is the only responsible choice.

(1) Electric car ranges are improving by 15% a year according to what I have read.
Average 80 miles in 2011, 275 miles by 2022, 400 miles predicted by 2028, 500 miles possible by 2030.

(2) No reason why there shouldn't be more than enough charging points by the 2030s.

(3) Costs will tumble as volumes increase. Probably be cheaper than petrol/diesel cars by the 2030s.

(4) Technology bound to improve considerably. Think of mobile phones 15 years ago. Nokia 1110.

HS2 essential as air travel will be cut back to achieve carbon neutral. eg no chance of Heathrow expansion, now completely illogical, emissions impossible plus the local environmental damage.

Fossil fuel use will have to decrease to near zero by 2040/2050.

Interesting.

Not exactly consistent with the line being plugged by some posters that Tony Fernandes and Ruben Gnanalingam have had enough and are looking to sell their part of QPR, hence the lack of action on Warren Farm.

Antti's Six Knee Jerks: QPR 0 Bristol City 1
at 14:11 3 Feb 2020

Also agree with Antti. Unfortunately a lot of the crowd these days have an entitled attitude. If they don't get what they want straight away they show their frustration and turn nasty. The idea of being a supporter has for them gone out of the window. Very little verbal encouragement unless we are winning. Too much stick and not enough carrot all round.

Yesterdays goal
at 20:54 2 Feb 2020

The ball takes 5 seconds from the interception to Diedhiou's head. Hall suddenly has two players to mark and Wiemann initially looks the more dangerous. Masterton is ball watching ignoring Wiemann. Even Van Dijk isn't stopping the ball reaching Diedhiou imo.

The ball goes close but just over Kelly's hand. Within inches. The no goalkeeper in the world comments are rubbish.

Yesterdays goal
at 17:15 2 Feb 2020

Tremendous header obviously but we were right behind the flight of the ball. It didn't go right in the corner and was within Kelly's reach. We were surprised Kelly didn't get something on it, at the time. Looking at the replays gives a greater impression of speed and power but I think a better goalie would probably have saved it.

Another player probably goes towards the pass and stops the goal at source. Eze is thinking attack. That's how he is. Thank goodness.

After all the moves in the summer and the team's performance since I am relaxed about outgoings and incomings this window. This management team seem to know what they are doing. Well, more than any previous management team I can remember, the Warnock era included.
