For my own benefit I worked out that £1.2M (the fee being quoted) works out as £7.5k per week over a 3 year contract (which seems a reasonable assumption). So if Hayden wants 7.5k a week more than Varane, he is more expensive.
I recall Hayden is currently getting well.over £30k a week isn't he? So it would be a huge loss to co.e down to a value for money level. |

But Hayden has little to no sell on value given his age. That's not the Nourry model.
Do t get me wrong, I liked Hayden, but if there is a cheaper, younger version out there, who we could sell for profit, then that's where we should be going. |

My take from. Those highlights is how often he sneaks in behind the central defenders intelligently, controls the ball and finishes. We've not had that for a while. And certainly not from Armstrong.
What the highlights dont show is how many times he goes to early and is offside. It's a narrow margin sometimes... |

Am I weird for being excited by this transfer? I think we have got so e seriously decent money, and if the last few transfers are anything to go by, I think we will be better off for it.
Thus isn't a slight on Armstrong, just I think we will be better off. |

I suspect not too many will agree with me but if both Arnstrong and Dykes go, it will be Dykes we miss the most.
We have been waiting for Armstrong to make the step up for 2 years now. Judging by the pre season friendly highlights he still has all the poise of a 4 year old one sugar high in front of goal. All the pace and power you could want, but not a footballing brain.
If we can get money for either, I wouldn't turn it down though. |
