Our current win rate this season is 23%. We have 14 games left and pretty much need to win 6 of them, minimum. That basically means DOUBLING our win rate over the last 14 games. realistically, we're down unless something truly remarkable either happens to us or to teams around us. |

PROS AND CONS FOR NEXT SEASON: CONS: 1. Lots of "Big" clubs coming into the league, both promoted and relegated. It'll be possibly be one of the strongest competitions ever. 2. We are going to lose the majority of our 'talent' before the season starts - anyone we can sell we will sell. Dickie already gone, expect to see Dieng, Chair, Willock and Dykes all sold on for whatever we can get. 3. Most of that income will be used on the FFP shortfall, so Gareth will have little to no budget to spend on players. 4. We can expect to see more 'direct' football PROS: 1. Our training ground is well underway and the improved facilities bode well for the future and for both the quality of training and the training environment the players experience. 2. Our terrible medical / injury record hopefully will improve as the training ground has a much more comprehensive facility and also Gareth seems to have a great record with keeping a small squad fit. 3. As we are likely to be bringing in mainly free transfers and lower league "gems" at least we have a manager that knows those lower league players well and is has a record of getting the best out of a" less technically gifted" squad. 4. We MAY (and it's totally unknown atm) get a bung from Eze playing for England and a slight chance is palace sell him (which has been rumoured) we'd get another sell on (20? 25%). 5. Expectations will have been reset. After last season, finishing above relegation, even a place above this season will be seen as success, rather than "play offs", Hopefully giving Gareth time to settle in and make some changes (obviously a lot wrong behind the scenes, and you'd hope a "hand on" manager that LOVES the club would be doing his best to sort that out - IF it's within his power!) 6. One would assume Gareth will put together a team that actually gives a sh*t and will play for the badge. Personally I'd rather see primitive direct football being played with honesty and heart than the bunch of weak willed sick notes from last season. I'm not convinced the football will be as bad as some say - I think he'll play a system to suit whatever players he can bring in. Add your personal PROS & CONS in the comments if you can be arsed. Trying to be positive here... |
