Many people don't realise that we also knocked out 1st division Leicester city 4-2 with the late great Gordon Banks after being behind 2-1.

I went to the semi final at Birmingham, I had just found my seat when Bridges scored for Brum but nobody was concerned we knew we would score, we run out winners 4-1 and we knew than that history was being made, a final at Wembley, although there was the second leg to play at the bush we knew we wouldn't be beaten at home.
Goals everywhere in that team.
It was a mere formality to dispatch Birmingham 3-1 for a 7-2 aggregate and the march to Wembley was on.
I am sorry for all you youngsters who never got the chance to see them play they were special.

Colback.
at 05:40 1 Mar 2024

With regard to Colbacks bookings, some were very silly and a cheap give away but he has taken cards where other team members have left him with no alternative but to take one for the team.
Sometimes a card will prevent a goal.

QPR in the 1950s

I remember George Whitelaw a big bruising number nine, rumour was he always carried a bible with him.
I was in Paington on holiday one summer and my dad took me to see him playing for Halifax at Torquay.

Fouls galore in Chelsea v Leeds 1970 Cup Final

Amazing the only booking we saw on that clip was for pushing.

I wonder how some of the current crop of players would or could handle this type of football.
Most go down in a stiff breeze these days.

Take a look at this on the BBC football website, I can't do the link but this is just brutal.

QPR in the 1950s

I remember the peanut man walking around the ground, if you were at the back you would pass your money down to the front hand by hand until it got to the peanut seller and he would take the money hand over the peanuts and they were passed hand by hand back up to the buyer.
Good days when there was honesty and trust.
My first game was in 1951.

What were their parents thinking? Well known footballers middle names

The Greeks and Cypriots sometimes follow this pattern of naming, some one explained it to me in an example like, Johnny Johnstone.

We have a 6'6" goalkeeper he should be coming out and dealing with crosses that close to the goal.

It certainly seems that Marti has injected some urgency and a feeling of togetherness in the team.
It now seems that everyone wants to play and are enjoying it more, could be why there are a lot less minor knocks and injuries than under Mr Ainsworth.
