Do you want the options again? Always the same... Report
at 08:03:07

The club is doing lots of things right, but all the current weaknesses with the team were ruthlessly exposed in the first 45. Keeper whose kicking is erratic and getting worse; 2 full backs who cant defend; lack of pace in central defence; weak in the tackle; lack of on field leadership; and, as you said, just too nice.

Kane and Pugh make it a summer dozen - Signings
at 13:35:33

Virtually a complete new team from last year. Considering where (and how) we finished that may not be a bad thing. MW will have his work cut out with getting the balance right. To those that were involved yesterday, we will be adding Kane, Wallace, Pugh, Cameron, Walker and Hugill. Who's going to miss out? Oteh looks like he'll need to go back to banging in penalties for the U23s. Owens, Hammalainen are probably not good enough. Chair on the bench could be a regular sidenote (I'm here all week) !!!!

Ball arrival raises old recruitment questions – Signing

Superb analysis. It's not so much a player we know little about but what it says about our tendency to change managers far too frequently. And the consequences of continual change.

The annual meek surrender at Griffin Park - Report
at 09:28:00

The performance was abject but the air of depression and acceptance of it is far more worrying. The only silver lining is that, after a horrendous run of fixtures, we now have supposedly winnable games coming up.

QPR desperate to end rotten run - Preview
at 14:49:54

As Clive says, things will turn. But we have to put in far more effort than we did on Saturday, defend considerably better than we have recently, and get some luck.
Whether that happens tonight, against a side trying for automatic promotion, is impossible to call. I'm going for a draw to stop the rot, but any result is possible.

We are so lucky to have someone with Clive's journalistic skills and (largely) humorous take on the joys and disappointments of following a small club in the Championship. Social media does give a platform to people who think their opinion is the centre of the universe and haven't learnt any of the constraints that should come with the ability to post a load of old tripe on any of the multiple platforms available today. I hope you can shut out the offensive noise because there are far more people who appreciate what you do.

New season, new boss, but same old same old for QPR at Preston - Report
at 10:09:26

As you suggested, it was all highly predictable. Preston are a decent ridiculously under-rated side at this level and can match cynicism to all the good things they offer. QPR, by comparison, were weak and naive. It's certainly not a disaster to lose at Deepdale but it does indicate how much further we have to go to match, if not better, last season's position

We short of knew... QPR confirm McClaren appointment - Column

I see the comment about the wage bill being the highest on record has just been overtaken. By Newcastle. By a wide margin.
You won't be able to cut and paste that comment, again, Clive. LOL!

Thank you Clive for all the hard work, the moans and grumbles (mostly justified), the wit, humour and occasional swearing, the long trips to away games at the other end of the country - on a school night, the infinite patience with team and management when they don't deliver. And for keeping us all informed as we lap up every morsel of news about our beloved and frustrating club.

QPR fightback floors Fulham - Report
at 21:06:54

This month has been very encouraging. Not just the results but the development of Furlong, Manning, Smyth and Eze. The "word of warning" is timely, after last season's late collapse.

The hope is that this team, especially the youngsters, can push on. We'll need to cut down on the goals against column and find that priceless commodity, a top striker, to really challenge. But a top half finish is acheivable next season

QPR slump against City’s supposedly tired ten men – Report
at 04:28:16

You have to wonder if it is the tactics designed by the management team OR the players being unable to put things into practice during games. Judging by the marks given, I'm tempted to veer towards the latter.

It's worth pointing out that Ryan Manning came from a similar level (albeit south of the border) and hasn't turned out badly. We will need to be patient. The warning to the mouth breathers on Twitter will, sadly, go unheeded. Good luck Paul Smyth. I trust the management team, including Les and the much maligned Chris Ramsey know how to bring the player on, slowly.

Hull still weighed down by Allam millstone – Opposition profile

Knowing your background, Clive, that is the most comprehensive summary you are likely to find outside (and inside) Humberside. Another sad tale of gross mismanagement. Maybe the football authorities should introduce a "fit and Proper" persons test?

Manning and Hall growing with every game - Knee Jerks
at 05:08:41

In the only game I've managed to attend this season, at Forest, Stroud's refereeing was erratic in the extreme. Yesterday he wasn't much better. I thought the penalty was extremely soft, but I also thought it was given by the assistant, rather than the ref. The bookings for Furlong, Luongo and Manning were extremely soft. I expected Mackie to get a yellow from this idiot, because a number of fouls he conceded. The loss of control in the last 5 minutes was embarrassing. No doubt, both sides will be sanctioned for "failing to control their players", while Stroud is given plenty of opportunities to ruin other Championship games.
