Peretz was an improvement on McCarthy and Bazunu, but I'd feel more confident about our chances of keeping a clean sheet against Pompey if Ramsdale were in goal. When we face Pompey it will be half a year since Peretz last kept a clean sheet in a regular season league game. Ironically, it was only because Bazunu kept a clean sheet that we avoided defeat against Pompey the last time they came to St Mary's.

Isn't there any way, referees can stop teams deliberately trying to injure Scienza? It's a tactic of every team we play now to start kicking him as soon as possible and continue doing it until he limps off the pitch. An early yellow card or two would help.
You forget how young he is. At the beginning of this year, Dibling was still a teenager. He's 1½ years younger than Divin Mubama.
There are a lot of great players who hadn't broken into regular top flight football by the age of 20.
I agree with you though that we should keep these young players here for longer before we sell them so that we at least get some benefit from them on the pitch.
We had a 'golden generation' of youngsters in our academy - Dibling, Robinson, Amo-Ameyaw and Ballard - who will all benefit other clubs. They'll reach their peaks in 3 or 4 years' time. I guess the money we get for selling them helps Saints' finances.
I never liked them anyway. It would be great if they got fewer points than we did when we were relegated. They haven't even scored a goal. Brilliant!

There was an empty area on the Kingsland side of the away section, so I'd say they failed to sell about 250 seats. The home areas I could see looked full except for a few empty seats in the Chapel.

Regarding Pompey bullsh!t, one of the funniest examples I saw was before the play-off final with Leeds, when Leeds fans were trying to pretend they'd bought seats in the Saints end, and a Pompey fan added, "Yes, Pompey have bought loads of seats there too."
Villa are looking early candidates for relegation. Assuming the FA don't keep Eckert out for too long, we could well pass them going the other way at the end of the season.
McCarthy was the worst goalkeeper I've ever seen play for Saints and Bazunu and McCarthy's careers at other clubs confirm that.
McCarthy has a more negative impact on the whole team's performance than any other player. With him in goal, teams have only won 1 regular season home league game in the last FIVE YEARS.
Why Saints tolerated him for so long, when he got found out at other clubs almost immediately, God only knows. Yes, Larin's Saints' debut was like Rickie Lambert's England debut -- a bullet header into the net with just about the first touch after coming on as a sub - a real wow moment - and I'll always remember being there to see them. Two players with total faith in their ability to score goals.
Larin lacks pace and wins surprisingly few 50/50 challenges, but he is supremely confident in front of goal, and that's what matters.
Mubama had a decent assist too, presenting Azaz with an easy tap in. Dobbin was anonymous though. He looked lost out there. But, maybe he'll come good eventually.
