As a club we are incredibly fortunate to have your writing on this site and DT's amazing work on AKUTRs. Not being on social media other than FB I am blissfully unaware of what goes on there but it's a place which seems to attract its fair share of bellends . If they get off on knocking people it just shows what sad empty lives they lead . The supportive messages preceding mine are testimony to how real fans view your work and it would leave a big hole if LFW didn't exist. Even here you get the odd post like " Clive , I don't think X was worth a 7 if Y only got a 6" or " Clive, it was Scowen's pass not Freeman's " which must pi55 you off when you get that back from such pedants. Anyway long may you continue to have your LFW mojo and I hope you continue to enjoy writing it whilst entertaining and informing us .

Same old FA Cup story for sorry QPR - Report
at 19:22:06

Thanks Clive. The long ball 'tactic' to Smith might be excusable if that was his strength, but he doesn't win them often and when he does , they're ploppy headers or not directed. And we don't have midfielders who gamble with those runs into the box . Where's Stuart Wardley when you need him? Errr joke by the way. Smith needs proper crosses into the box with pace to be effective not these long aimless punts which defenders invariably eat for breakfast.

How was your Friday? - Report
at 09:59:02

Clive your words are full of pain, frustration. exasperation even and are exactly the reasons I vowed to never go back to that Neanderthal cave after the last time when Morison bossed Big Danny. Regardless of the result and performance ( which only add insult to injury) the whole experience is just thoroughly unpleasant and I don't need that shit . Yesterday I went to Wycombe v Mansfield and it was a world away from this . Pleasant friendly people treating fans with respect and courtesy not like animals. TBH Eze showed flashes but the game passed him by and I fear we have unrealistic expectations of him . Anyway he is coming back on Tuesday but no point him playing if we adopt these tactics as he won't see the ball . Isn't cup tied so will presumably play v franchise fc. I hope our fans are patient with him - he's not an Out and out striker so not sure how we can accommodate him with the 3 midfielders.

Freeman blasts deserved late leveller - Report
at 14:23:43

Lee, thanks for the report. Agree with every word apart from the' assist' for their goal was more of a lucky deflection from a shot that was going well wide, but no arguing with the shot which was the only moment of quality in the first half. It's telling that our defenders get the highest marks, as yet again it is the attacking players who contributed little, which is a fair summary of where we are. Great keeper, 2nd string defenders doing a fair job , good quality midfield, no reliable goalscorers and little creativity apart from Freeman. Barnsley were woeful and if we had Villa's forwards ( or even one of them ) we might have won 3-1.

One for later – Signing
at 18:42:11

Trouble is Clive, many of the imbeciles who frequent some other R's fans' sites or social media just don't get it. The biggest nonsense is reserved for those criticising TF for not spending enough ( notwithstanding FFP saying he can't even if wanted to ) when it's a ( not so) delicious irony that him spending TOO MUCH was how we got in this shit in the first place. Courtesy of Hughes & Redknapp of course. And talking of low expectations, shouldn't we be singing from the rooftops at having 7 pts from the 1st 5 games ? For my sins I have a lot of Brentford mates and I've not heard one of them moan at their board or manager despite them only having 2 pts. Can you imagine the unholy stink that Ollie, Les & Co would cop if it was the other way round ? A lot of us need the proverbial reality check . Could be worse- we could be Arsenal I suppose.

A familiar Christmas tale of woe for QPR at Brighton - Report
at 19:33:46

Tim assuming your comment wasn't with tongue in cheek, that's very harsh on Smithies for first goal . From the away end it was a goal as soon as he hit it. I can think of many others to blame before Smithies e.g. All the outfield players but most notably the skipper who turned as fast as HMS (Chris) Barker used to.

A familiar Christmas tale of woe for QPR at Brighton - Report
at 14:11:52

Bang on as usual Clive . Couldn't believe how we kept leaving their tallest player free for far post corners time after time. And don't start me on throw-ins . I've gone on about this for years. Ours always become a 50-50 option. Never to a player in space of a simple one touch layoff back to the thrower to keep
Possession. By contrast they had players in 5 yds of space around and sometimes in our box at thei throws. Schoolboy stuff . I don't know if that's the manager/coaches' fault or don't our players have brain ? It's one thing having little goal threat but if you can't defend either it doesn't bode well.

QPR defenders the April Fools as Boro continue Sky curse - report
at 01:53:28

Pedant. Always good to hear the oppo's view on here. I'm pretty sure the issue with Polter & Gibson at the end was because Gibson was gesturing to the home fans and Polter pointed to the away end as if to say Go celebrate with your own fans rather than wind ours up.if that was the case then he was spot on IMO. Players celebrating in front of opposing fans is very provocative and is one of my pet hates. I'm sure we do it as well but it's so unnecessary and should be an automatic card IMO. Far worse than taking your shirt off ( although that's also moronic in most cases! )Hope u go up at the expense of Burnley so we're not treated to Barton gloating about how great he is ,the odious tw@t !

QPR defenders the April Fools as Boro continue Sky curse - report
at 23:29:49

God help us we don't need a Barton having just got rid of one ! Badly missed " the skipper " namely Hill for his leadership and proper defending. Harsh reality is , when both your CBs turn in 4/10 performances (that's being generous ) as well as your best midfielder (Ale) then you ain't gonna win many games esp against a team of their quality. Phillips really I'd taking the pi55 and he shouldn't be playing with 3 wide men +Washington on the bench. His body language is appalling. We managed to carry him v Brentford but not v Boro with so many others having a bad night. Yes we def need a grizzly CB like a younger Hill or Dunne. I like Aaron Pierre at Wycombe- he reminds me a bit of Big Dan and Gareth rates him highly. We need a true "stopper " in the old vein sand bolx to whether he can pass it or not

Polter improving but central midfield issues remain - Knee Jerks
at 22:04:45

With you all the way Antti. We needed Faurlin but it would have been a big ask for him to pick up the pAce of the game at that stage. Fer can't play in central two as he has no defensive mentality. Although he's been in good form of late Hoilett couldn't kick his own arse and I'd have brought Washington on for him after 60/65 mins ; 70 max For the first time Perch put some decent crosses in 1st half

The long road from Austin to Washington – Signing
at 23:06:57

It's crucial that we give the guy time to bed in, which is what the 'we're f@ckinshit ' brigade won't do because they want instant gratification and that won' t help him any. I also hope he succeeds if only to shut up those who point the finger at Les. The accusations of colour bias are very cheap shots.we all hope this is step towards going back to Old Rangers of buy low sell high. First example I can remember was none other than Rodney. Hoping we've seen the end of the Bosingwas and Bartons to name but 2

Hull profit from Green’s latest catastrophic calamity – report
at 01:02:08

Sometimes our fans really get on my tits.We all accept -or should-that guys like Henry and Polter are limited technically but neither can be accused of hiding or not putting in a shift. And the w*nkfest over Warnock pisses me off too. Yes he steadied the ship but wasn't a long term option. Many fans seem to be suffering delusions of grandeur, no doubt inflamed by the nonsense messages from TF. the refusal to pick Harriman or Furlong at RB or Luongo is very odd but it's now 3 managers who've done it as Clive said in his preview. Who knows what we are to make of that? The midfield has been crying out for some youthful energy which Massimo could bring yet he has been ignored since the Brentford game ( where he twice hit the woodwork ). I remember ned's body language when Perch was injured and he went to RB in the re-shuffle . You could see him thinking FFS why me? He NEVER gets close enough to cut out crosses and being Played out of position is no excuse for that . Maybe that's an excuse for not being able to cross the ball but not for his inability to do defensive basics .ive seen Harriman play at Wycombe and he should walk into this team. He has pace and energy and a great attitude even if limited on the ball. If our coaches have seen him, which they surely have , it's baffling that we persist with Ned .Whatever happened to the notion of giving young blokes a chance?Did that get thrown out with Ramsey ?

Thanks Clive. An interesting read to soothe the hangover .true, we all have our players we like/dislike but I think there is still a general broad consensus , eg when looking at the marks awarded it is clear who has played well or badly . You don't need a Pro licence to see Fer was our worst player v Hudd. Fair point about the daily training ground stuff that we plebs are not privy to, but by & large we're not stupid .I've never been a great one for conspiracy theories so I can't accept that JFH is going to play Fer/Sandro because he is told to from on high . He doesn't need that and seems a strong personality , so will stand or fall by his own decisions , although that doesn't explain the current mysteries such as Furlong and Harriman being ignored ;Doughty has also disappeared - is he with Tim Peake I wonder ? If I only get one wish granted today it's that we don't play Phillips up front ( cue hat trick and MOM-commentator's curse in reverse ?)

Polter proves the strikers’ case – Report
at 12:45:26

The selection reminded me of the "must win" home game v WHU when we were first treated to Henry on right mid.if that was a Ramsey team he'd have been abused with You don't know what you're doing. Not advocating giving JFH stick as the booing idiots get on my tits but this nonsense of Phillips up front has to stop. We're all agreed Seb is no world beater but as a live said an average striker has to be better than none. And Green should have done better with the free kick. He moved JET to the end of the wall as he presumably expected a left footed shot. Can't think why else the wall was halfway to the corner flag.

Hoilett’s return to form not enough for QPR in Bristol – Report
at 17:01:12

thanks for the report Clive. I didn't make it to the game. Sounds like it was there for the taking and a very good side would have won 1-0 , as the Venables promotion team had a habit of doing . Instead of Brizzle I took in Gareth's mighty Wycombe v Oxford , where a certain M Harriman put in an incredibly energetic display on the right of midfield where he was absolutely tireless and was sprinting about in the 93rd minute as if it was the first . He certainl y looked a lot fitter than most of our lot. Managed to sneak a quick word in with Gareth after the game and he is really pleased with him and hopes we won't recall him. I can't believe he or Furlong wouldn't be a better option than Ned at RB. Not that this would turn us into promotion certainties, but it would add energy & pace to the team.

Tricky game 21 - Preview
at 16:37:47

cheers Clive. Has all the makings of a turgid 0-0 ( cue 4-4 goal frenzy ) . I'm tempted not to post this in case it's a jinx, but Green's recent dodgy handling combined with constant pre-match rain do not fill me with confidence. Can't say I'm very inspired by any of the badges being offered - very little imagination and virtually a crib of the older crests , but IMO inferior versions. Still anything is better than the current pile of shite , not least because of its association with Tango & Cash.
