Many people have been saying on the board that they don't know how you keep churning out these match reports, but, as you say, it's the anger isn't it? And you are channeling our collective feelings. This team, these tactics and the accompanying PR b-s are not just bad...they are biblically, stupendously brain-dead bad and anti-football. At one point, a few weeks ago, I thought you were being too harsh on the players who are only human. No more. You got it right. |

Clive, your report was a Tour de Force of indignation and I agreed with every word of it. I, like many other older Rangers fans reading LFW, was on the North Bank at Highbury in 1982 in the game won by Clive Allen's shin. Rarely had I been prouder of my team and that was what Rangers and the FA Cup should be all about. That was then...appalled to hear most of team ignored fans at the end. The kind of thing you don't see on the stream. |

Fantastic points on concussion and players taking the piss. Would add to a possible solution the idea of widening 'simulation' as a bookable offense to include 'faking head injury', obviously after some sort of medical check as you mention. Depressing that moves to combat Vardy-esque dives takes precedence over more consequential cheating over concussion. Hippocratic oath for docs and medics has become hypocritical oath. |

The message you send by starting Hendrick over Amos is not a good one for the players or fans. Warbs can bang on all he wants about the Irishman's premier league quality and pedigree but he is a new element for this team while Amos was fresh off a superb performance against Fake Hoops. How about 'earning' your place in the team. Hendrick played some nice passes in a sub's appearance against Boro in the week but it was the quintessential 'cameo'. Amos fresh legs and younger. Also a word for Dom Ball. At least he would have tried.
All of which being said, the manager has a vast store of credit by consistently getting most things right over his tenure and deserves our support. But stlll fair to point out, as Clive does superbly, when he and the team make a pig's ear of it.
Final point. It seems to me we are a far better team when pressed by good sides and flail tactically when basically crap teams pack D and midfield and sit back. |

Clive said Warbs was 'fuming' in his post-match comments. And, checking the video out, he was right. Thought it was great that our controlled manager finally let go and blasted the effort in the last half an hour saying 'we didn't roll our sleeves up' and 'we have to be better'. Warbs pointed out we could have gone into the Top Ten with a win. On another note, thought the challenge that left De Wijs with a broken nose was a clearly dangerous one and deserved a yellow card at least. |

Criticism of Dykes is over the top. He's raw. And Hughill was not exactly as graceful as a gazelle either while also missing his share of great chances. Wells fluffed chances as well...who could forget the Pen miss against Birmingham? Strangely, in too many years of watching football, my experience is most strikers are not natural goalscorers. That's why we prize Greaves/Lineker/Shearer/Vardy/Ings/Aguero types so much because their unconscious goal scoring is the exception, not the rule. Sitting back and looking at it rationally, Dykes has made a good start for the Rs...5 goals is a good return at this point in a new league while also having gone off on two major international trips. The point is Dykes can get better. And he's already pretty decent. |

Also thought Watford peculiar and poor in second half. Leeds getting lots of praise, and rightly so, for regularly 'going for it' in the Prem. This was the opposite approach with Watford far too cautious. But Rangers did play well and it's good to see we have a squad that allows for quality subs to come on. Amazing stat from Clive that under Warbs we have won more points from losing positions than any other Championship team. Who would have thought that? |

Also mystified by Chair being taken away by premature substitution. And why does Hughill 'have to play'? Nick London and Andy Sinton stuck up for him on commentary saying he did not hide and always showed for the ball. He was also crap! Great discipline by Mr Whittingham to limit 90s references in this report. For once, match stats told a lot...Charlton 35% possession, Rs 65%. Charlton 12 shots, Rs 6. Charlton 5 shots on target, Rs 1. Charlton 10 corners, Rs 1. Pathetic. |

Nailed the report: you get nothing for style points. Now see why there was desperation to spend millions we don't have on an Aberdeen centre-half during the transfer window. The fact we did not play too badly is not the point here. The fact we were an embarrassing pushover is. Never thought Cardiff would lose from the moment they got their first goal. Lots still to be cheerful about and Warburton has been a revelation but let's not kid ourselves. |

From the stream, QPR support was fabulous and my brother was in the Away End representing the family. But think Clive overestimates how ripe the Wall were for the taking. They funnelled back behind the ball in a very disciplined fashion and made it hard to play. Nick London and Andy Sinton on the stream commented that they were playing like the away team which I think was correct. Limited but still needed to be beaten. Also, these bad teams can be hard to put away...see being beaten at home by Rotherham and Bolton at the tail end of last season. Finally, think posters who are crediting the work behind the scenes of John Eustace have it right. Remember he got that 0-0 with the ratter-in-chief at Wall as his first game in temporary charge. It shows Warburton's mature management style that he was willing to keep on and listen to Eustace, the former Number Two of the horrendous, discredited McClaren. Enjoying the optimism, Clive! Onwards and upwards. |
