Cabinet Minister in the Lower Loft on Saturday !!
at 22:26 25 Nov 2013

I should have said when I posted this, that I live in one of the safest Tory seats in the country but have never voted Tory in a General Election, so I'm not in the same political sphere as Gove! He did have the common touch though, a Pukka pie at half time !!

Anyway, on Saturday afternoon, he was a normal proud Dad as his son had just been mascot at QPR.

I remembered the same feeling 9 years ago when my son was mascot, we scraped a 1.0 at home to Cardiff, slimy Sam gave all the QPR mascots a fiver and told them to kick the QPR players - what a nice bloke (not!)

Cabinet Minister in the Lower Loft on Saturday !!
at 19:45 25 Nov 2013

My son and I were sitting next to Michael Gove on Saturday afternoon.
Fair play to the guy, I'm sure he could have sat somewhere in the posh seats, but he was behind the goal with his son and a few of his sons friends.
So whether one likes his politics or not (and I definitely don't, especially as my wife is a teacher who works 60 hours a week +), he was just a normal bloke, who was enjoying watching the R's with his son, wearing an old dog eared QPR scarf!
He jumped up and went as mad as the rest of us when Charlie Austin scored, we had a great view - he obviously wasn't a newcomer to football, he was very in tune with the game, clapping great tackles (Richard Dunne) and joined in a bit with the tiny bit of occasional chanting and clapped AJ when he came out for a warm up.
He almost made me think he was a good guy, until I saw him on Sunday morning on the Andrew Marr show, changed out of his jeans and back into the politicians suit (on a Sunday morning - what's that all about!)
Still - fair enough, on a Saturday afternoon he was an R's supporter, just like the rest of us!!

London marathon (n/t)
at 15:26 22 Apr 2013

The runner in the QPR kit yesterday was me !!

I ran it 2 years ago in my QPR shirt and I'm sure Charlie mentioned seeing an 'old boy' in a QPR kit - well I did it again yesterday in my 'lucky' QPR top - the one I wore the day we were pomoted at Watford

It was such hard work but briliant fun and the support (and symapthy) along the course and from other runners was amazing - every few hundred yards someone would shout out 'U R's' which motivated me to carry on - I even got a laugh when some young 'scalliwags' in Docklands started chanting 'going down, going down' then when I crossed the finishing line, the commentator spotted my shirt and announed to everyone in the Mall that a guy in a QPR shirt is crossing the finishing line and he hoped I had had a better run than QPR's season - ha ha!!

Most people I know take up golf at 51, but why oh why, I don't know, this fat old boy took up marathon running - days like yesterday make it all worthwhile - so if you were on the 26.2 yesterday and yo ugave me a cheer - Thank You so much - it made all the difference to me !!

cheers Phil

Best moment of the season.
at 20:40 15 May 2012

when Jamie Mackie made his comeback against Fulham, we were 0-6 down (in case you had forgotten ;-) ) and he was still chasing everything, he even should have had a penalty - at the end of the game we were still singing - I was very proud to be an R that day - weird eh!!

If you're not going Sunday.....
at 09:56 12 May 2012

I've been thinking about this long & hard - I feel really guilty, but I don't think I can handle the stress of watching it live on TV and I can't go to Manchester, so I'm going to take the dog for a nice walk around Box Hill - then when he is kipping in the car, I'll go for a cycle ride ... by the time I get home, my son, who is also a season ticket holder, and has more balls than me coz he is going to watch the game, can give me a simple thumbs up to show we are staying up, or some other signal if the results aren't good (you see, I can't even type the other outcome, just in case it makes it happen!!)
So my best wishes to everyone going, players, staff & supporters - I will be thinking, wishing, daydreaming, hoping and praying for you all - and I will watch it all recorded later in Sunday !!

Thought Crouchie (as my mother-in-law calls him!) was terrific today - everything he did for Stoke outside our area, passes, tackles, flick-ons, hold up play etc, he was very good, then he gets inside our box and all his chances go wide - brilliant! The 2 headers he would normally bury and we know from that goal the other week how well he can volley - so he missed a hat trick of chances - great performance

Season Ticket Printer info - where are you now?
at 08:38 22 May 2011

A few years back when the ST's went up by silly money - wasn't there a printer lurking on here who came out and announced the new prices?

I seem to remember everyone thinking it was nonsense as the rises were so high - then it transpired he worked for the printers who printed the ST renewal letters and info that was sent out to us and he was absolutely right - have I imagined this?

If I haven't - where is the printer now?!!

don't bet with Coral :-( they wont pay out on QPR
at 21:01 3 May 2011

I'm really fed up
last August I put a bet on with Coral for the R's to win the championship - £50 at 12-1 - I've never bet on us before like this, I don't know what came over me!!
All season I've been thinking the pay out - £650 would hopefully pay for most of mine and my sons season tickets in the premier league next year - however ... this is what Coral have to say in reply to my email asking for the bet to be honoured ...

Thank you for your message.

Please be advised that our Trading Team have informed us that they will be delaying the settlement of these bets until the result of the hearing has been announced on Friday re: a possible points deduction for QPR.

If we can be of any further assistance please do not hesitate to contact us at Coral Customer Services.

Kindest regards

Duncan
Coral Customer Services

So according to Duncan, the hearing is all about a points deduction - which shows how much Coral know !!

I've asked Duncan for the Coral MD's name and contact details so I can ask him for my money!!

Still, it was a fantastic day on Saturday and they can never take that away from us!!
