Flights booked, ESTA sorted, tickets for the final, five minutes to go and then that happens. Gutted.
We’d been QPR’d.
It’s the mentality of a team that has an overwhelming fear of failure.
Like every other football fan, it was hard to believe our approach after dominating the game.
We had Messi doing his thing where we wanted him, in his own half. At his age he wasn’t going to damage us from there. Then we invite him in, down our left and give him the freedom of the pitch.
Big red flag when we had one chance to break through a Bellingham run and none of our players had the legs to stay with him.
We had that rarity of two genuine match winners. Tuchel was right packing the side for this tournament with water carriers, let them do their bit and leave the winning to Kane and Bellingham. To suddenly stop doing what worked unfathomable. |

The interesting part is 50% of Stoke income is from commercial operations. Fair play to them if that’s the case, it’s a shrewd move. Clubs will be wise to use this avenue under the new rules otherwise our 18000 capacity stadium will seriously undermine us. |

Well that is the proviso we’re all clinging onto. To be fair, 35 points in the first half of season was very good and for that alone he should be afforded this season.
Regards any extended contract, if he ever decides he wants to go, he’ll go, contract or no contract.
All it’ll mean is we might get a suitor to pay off the extension of his contract, a contract that we don’t need to give him in the first place. It smacks a little of Amit counting the cost of cup cakes, fair enough, but whatever the reason for an extension, it’s not really a game changer for the club. |

What’s becoming evident is, if a British tennis player wants to be at the top of his profession, it’s best to go to the US, Spain, anywhere basically, that hasn’t got the LTA’s finger prints all over it.
Fair play to Fery, missed yesterday, but in earlier rounds I’ve been turning over during the second set, thinking the poor fellas going to be outclassed, turn back over an hour later and somehow he’s taking the fourth set. He’s playing fearless, something we don’t teach very well over here. |

We came 15th with a better squad than the season before, with relegation form for the second half of it. I’m not convinced anybody was going to lure him away.
Top 8 should be the aim this year. If he fails that he should be jettisoned, if he succeeds then offer him a new contract. By and large, when you’re declining you attract desperate managers, when you’re on the up you attract better managers.
I’m not sure why the need for an extended contract at this point in time. |

On the occasions I still have to drive in London, I literally crave for the A3 and the journey home.
Like so many things, there was a freedom in driving that has long since changed into a cat and mouse chase with the authorities in London. No prizes for guessing who wins.
