Back in December 1995, Dale played a Friday night game at Leyton Orient.
Bristow was doing the half-time draw, which went down quite well in that part of London.
On the way home we stopped at either Watford Gap or Newport Pagnell Services and there was Bristow, sipping a coffee, probably with his little finger sticking out.

He took on guest's and staff in a darts exhibition and won the lot.
After a gang of us went for a meal in the Chinese restaurant that use to be on Smith St (the name escapes me) Eric was the star of the show. Very funny guy with loads of tales to tell.

Eric might have been Darts royalty and TBF not every celeb can be sponsored by Ferrari or Lamborghini but you know your place in the grand scheme of things when you launch a Lada. I would have sacked my agent. | |

Always remember seeing him on TV in some documentary about the police. Cops got called to some pub where bouncers were having trouble with a customer and when they got there, it was Bristow trying to get in but they thought he had drank too many already and wouldn't let him in. | | | |

I found out yesterday that another class mate as passed away since christmas.
That is 3 since october 2017 and was no older than 55...
It does make you sit back and take note of i suppose of if and when.
Im almost 56 myself and not been in good health for over 20yrs due to one thing or another..
