Speaking of Beesley, Newby has just absolutely bottled a header that he would have won against the keeper if heā€™d have committed himself.

One of the most cowardly things Iā€™ve seen from any Rochdale player in a lifetime of watching.

How the manager didnā€™t immediately hook him for that speaks volumes.

100% agree

That ball was slightly in our favor. Beesley would have gone for that 100% & clattered ball, keeper and himself. Complete bottle job

Sadly got to agree. Weā€™re in a relegation battle and if thatā€™s the level of commitment, wellā€¦.

To be fair. The keeper had committed but was perfectly off his line and still quite a distance from Newby. He could have headed it and still manoeuvred himself around the keeper to avoid being clattered. Worst case scenario he misses, gets clattered and keeper gets sent off.

He chooses to duck out and avoid all of the above scenarios.

Release him now please.

The manager's reluctantance to change tactics is getting tiresome and Hill/BBM-esque.

Couple this with the fact that a lot of these players don't have it in them when the going gets tough. The outlook isn't looking good.

We might be safe this season (just) but it might not be a similar story next season, especially if teams with money like Stockport and Wrexham come up.

Talking of Wrexham...

They were 2-0 up against Dover (rock bottom and certs to drop out of the Conference) after 20 minutes

Dover are now winning 2-5

Edit: now 3-5

Andrews on for Done.

Not sure we've had a shot this half.

Edit: just been reminded of one shot this half by O'Keeffe!

Thatā€™s a good assessment. The Beesley deal has ended up benefitting nobody, even though it made some sense at the time. Amazed Blackpool didnā€™t want him to stay here on loan as they clear have had little intention of using him at first. The player himself will have gone backwards too.

We need something from this second half, ourselves and/or elsewhere, or there could be some difficult decisions to be made. Really hoping for a turnaround by 5pm.

Edit: ā€œor elsewhereā€ at least. Mansfield equalise at Oldham

Unbelievably, Oldham concede late again. We are lucky beyond belief when you take into account how many late goals theyā€™ve conceded of late to lose points.

Thereā€™s literally a single positive I can take from that and itā€™s Luke Charmanā€™s performance, who I thought was very impressive.

Iā€™d genuinely drop Newby from the next match day squad for shirking that header.

I can't remember seeing so much of a player and still be unsure what type of player they are, but that's Broadbent. Robbie said he was an exciting signing, but I've still genuinely no idea what to expect from him.

Lost 1-0. only positive was that we did have a few decent efforts on target and their keeper got MOM. Charman & Lynch our best 2 players, & the former probably worth a run in the team. Always looking to shoot & had some of our best efforts as well as holding players off.
Copy & paste my comment from the last match - Another team that didn't seem great but we can't beat any of them.
Starting to look like 46 points could be enough to stay up as the bottom 3 are dreadful but we are not much better

Probably the next two games if we sack Stockdale and get a new manager bounce like everyone else does.

Stockdale out.

Yes - that would be the Carlisle that have won 4 out of their last 5. Simpson has done a cracking bounce back job for them. I am not hopeful ..... will we even have 1500 fans there to watch it?
