He only scored once in that game. An own goal and Bill Atkins were credited with the other two in a 3-2 win.

However, Skeete did score in each of the next two games at home to Southend and away at Plymouth.

The last three games of the season giving rise to optimism and excitement for the future….then Dick Connor got sacked, Reg Jenkins was released and…worst of all…Walter Joyce was appointed Manager.
