Yeah there’s some good stuff on the Dale page there. What comes through during every interview is how much everyone values the culture that’s been created. Whether that’s established players, new ones or the manager, we clearly gave such a solid base to work from.
It makes sense why they didn’t want a manager who has been round the houses who might see things differently.

One thing you can’t buy is class. The Odgens and Simon and all those now involved in the club only know one way to operate and it’s professionally.
They have built that environment and McNulty, his team and the players signed have all represented the club magnificently.
Ian Watson and Carl have now come in and their interview alone are just riddled with appreciative words and recognition for those before them and those at the helm. It’s actually impressive and just shows leadership is everything. If you get everyone buying into it top down bottom up you are a driving force.
It’s clear we need to give IW time. And I hope we as a fan base do exactly that and act with class. Because the social media world is dark and expectant. The core of our fan base is humble, grateful and patient. Even more so after recent years where the unknown was looming.
In summary thanks to Simon, the Ogdens, and even the players such as your Petits who ooze class, I think we are in for a nice season. Will we pull up trees? Unlikely. But for me, it will just be nice to attend games again with far less pressure. See some youth utilised where we can and build on last season at a manageable pace.
The circus up the A64 are a brilliant example of what else is on offer. Idiots treating clubs like real life football manager. It’s sad to see but at the same time not surprising.
On a separate note, you also have Tranmere fans questioning their wage bill and the affordability. I feel like we have returned to the sensible ‘well run Rochdale’ era and it helps me sleep tightly. | | | |
