Where does he fit in the 'youngest debutant' list? Can't be too many 16 year olds who've played for Dale.

Think Diba was pretty young also. As for out field players I think he is probably one of the youngest. Reece Gray was pretty young when he made his debut but don't think he was that young.

Thought defender Zac Hughes (1988 debut?) held this record

I did a piece on this for TVOS after Taberner's debut, but that's seven years ago now.

Morley was 16 years 219 days old yesterday, so I'll see where he fits in when I get home tonight.

When I was your age, I used to enjoy the odd game of tennis. Or was it golf?

Marcus Magna! Now there's a player it'd be hard to recall from the chasm of oblivion.

If you're good enough, you're old enough. I thought he made some lovely passes last night. A bit quiet in the first half but when Camps went off he seemed to take over his role and became the play maker, but was a little overshadowed when Rathbone came on. Pleased to see the crowd getting behind him when his passes came off. Certainly a promising debut.

Taberner was 16 years 5 months compared to Hughes 16 years 3 months.

One record Morley can claim for his own is he's become Rochdale AFC's 1st 21st Century footballer! ( in that he was born in the year 2000 )

He looked a bit hesitant and wayward in the first half. However in the second and after Camps (who was dreadful last night) went off he really seemed to come into the game and was impressive for a 16 year old.

Agree that he improved as the game went on, however the pass of the match from him came in the first half when he thredded a through ball for Odelusi to get in on goal

Camps played the 'pass of the match' through to Odelusi to get in on goal.

In the first half he didn't really get a lot of the ball. When he played deeper after Camps went off he got many more touches and looked to have a good pass on him. Physically he held up well and looks an excellent prospect.

Yes, surprised me looking at the winning goal when he goes to celebrate he looks a big unit for 16 - certainly Hill didn't seem to have a problem playing him the whole 90 mins. The only worry now is with him being so young and not able to sign a pro deal till he turns 17 we may get agents and other clubs thinking he's was pickings to lure away.

Agree with nearly all the above comments - one exception was, 'Camps was dreadful'. The fact that he misplaced one or two passes does not make his performance dreadful.

To add to the positive comments re Aaron, he was also partcularly very good at finding a space, a la Jamie Allen. The youth team coaches are doing a grand job. No doubt these players will be slated by some people in future years if they have an off game or two!

Sorry for going off topic, but I am told it's ok.

* btw, meant to say I reckon you were badly misinterpreted in a post following a recent game when you'd posted along the lines of "I've been told that players x, y, z are rubbish" when you were obviously being tongue-in-cheek!

Bywater aside, did any of these (who are old enough) play a league game after their 20th birthday TVOS?

Everything thats been, has past. The answers in the looking glass!
