Suggestion that Colchester will be entering administration unless they can find a rescue package to pay off their £31million (!) debts. The -12 points will presumably be this season, saving Southend.
I would imagine the cost of their stadium is part of the debt rather than accrued operating losses. They would have taken loans out to cover that.

I'm amazed there hasnt been any league clubs go under/into admin this season so far. Many clubs were spending above their means before covid struck. More than a year and a whole season with no crowds and little to no income is far worse than any club can have budgeted for last summer.

I would love Southend to be saved. Not surprisingly living in the town makes Southend my favourite Dale away trip. Plus we have only just started to win at Roots Hall, after virtually my whole life time of trying.
