Football League shake up?
at 02:54 7 May 2014

THIS IS AN OPINION AND IM NOT TRYING TO START AN ARGUEMENT.

the rest of Europe has come on leaps and bounds regards to bringing through young talent and improving player standards (technical, tactical, social and mental).

England has decreased, the amount of young players coming through deteriorating,

The reserve league is a sham, its going through the motions, its not competitive enough for younger players.

Until they bring through a complete plan for re-structure its hard to give a definitive statement about if it would work or not. From my point of view the 'B' squad would be good enough youth players and just not quite there first teamers, actually giving them real competitive playing time

Again they would have to define the amount of players from other nationalities/age groups in the B squad.

Adding 1/2 teams to each league so its 26 teams in each league a possibility.

Setting up a fifth division below league 2/above conference as an actual league.

Relegating teams which are not able to fully stabilize themselves financially, un-stable grounds for full capacity. Teams not up to certain standards which could be working in community, youth structure, coaching standards.

The overall plan is to help improve the standard and amount of English youth players coming through the system, people whinge that the FA are not helping and here they are trying to help and WHAM!, people start saying thats wrong, what above them.... Its clear to see its worked in other countries and in other countries the level of home grown standards has improved massively.

The FA, designed youth modules to help coaches be more understanding of youth players from the ages as low as 5. Giving them the confidence and opportunity to improve their social mental and technical ability.

The next step would be to allow younger players the opportunity to play at a higher level competitively each week to help improve their overall game - this is what they are trying.

Having the best leagues in the world does not concern me, having the best young English players coming through the system each season & giving them the opportunity to be the best that they can be IS what concerns me. Most of you don't care for the international team because its full of overpaid pre-madonnas, yes? Well, Imagine if there was a hell of a lot more top english players fighting it out for a position in the england squad, would be a hell of a difference in my eyes.

Im not saying im right, however Id be happy to see a re-structure.
Im sure Keith Hill said something in his interview earlier about improving players by coaching, well improve the coaching at the lower league clubs and theres a lot less chances that team could get relegated out of the football league.

I thought JK had a bad game just as much as Donnelly... does that mean we can keep him away from the starting line up too?

Donnelly substitution
at 20:36 2 Feb 2014

Dont want to be the odd-ball of the convo but the last few games Donnelly has played I have seen major improvement in his technique and reading the game, he still runs about like a big pain in the arse (for the opposing defence), would gladly have him in my team each week because this season we have been creating over 10 chances a game. Personally still think that Cummins is lazy and even though he 'may well have the potential' he is nowhere near using it and will not reach it until he does take a leaf out of Donnellys book.

But as for the post, he shook his replacements hands and by the look on his face he was not happy with his performance (understandable) and needed his few minutes to be alone (just like Lancashire at half time against Rotherfield in the FA CUP)

As a player I love Donnelly, he does a lot for us in his position, when fully fit he always harrasses defenders and goalkeepers and albeit he isnt the best technical player, he has the heart and desire to do the best for the team and he does that in my eyes....

If it wasnt for Cummins last 3 or so appearances I would take Donnelly and start him every game without a second thought because I was under the impression Cummins was more a weak link due to him being lazy, never chasing down defenders and the keeper and quite frankly never put himself about like a striker should.
Since mid december though I do admit Cummins has been playing very well.

Different people see different things.

who was your fav wrestler??
at 16:00 16 Jan 2014

Just as Chaff said, I openly admit to still watching it now.

They are opening a new WWE Network (not sure if been mentioned) but for £9.99 a month you can watch a number of shows like Legends House (all legends in a big house living together), All Raw and Smackdown shows, All Pay per views (old and new) without any added costs.

Favorite wrestler have to be right now Daniel Bryan (YES! YES! YES!) and CM Punk, however when I was younger it would have to be The Rock, Stone Cold, Chris (Y2J) Jericho.

I have the same arguement with numerous of people about it being Fake (obviously staged) but the injuries can be real and once in the ring anything could happen, however the entertainment value is well worth!

Its funny, I noticed this post just as finishing watching Monday Night Raw (on repeat cos I was working monday night lol)

Bury away on TV
at 15:49 10 Jan 2014

considering we are not paying for any staff/maintenance etc type bills for this game & making either a 15K or 25K profit just for 90 minutes, you cant really complain as this money could go towards money for our Floodlights which need repairing/maintenance, any other type repairs, players wages or so on.

For those who cant attend due to living 250 miles away etc, you can now go to the pub and watch it on the tele!

Leeds dregs
at 15:45 10 Jan 2014

ah, I see what you mean now. Never come across the word 'Dreg' before.

Got to just highlight though, the amount of fans that came down from Leeds to the game (no matter which stand they were in) were absolutely fantastic, we had no trouble whatsoever and the day went fantastically well.
So id just like to sit here with a massively smug grin on my face and look at the people who did nothing but slate the 'dirty' leeds fans saying that all hell would break loose and there was going to be a lot of trouble even though i told them god knows how many times it would not.

Its not the same type of leeds fans that they used to be and hope people now realize this after saturdays game. Except yes for 3 idiots like this which every club has :-)

We need a striker part 94
at 06:04 31 Dec 2013

Im worried about the lack of pace at left back for Rochdale and the amount of pace they have in some of their attacking players for Leeds, other than that, I think Rochdale will give Leeds a very good game at the weekend.
Donnelly up top for me, even if unfit his work ethic is through the roof and wont give up anything so if he can make himself a nusance for the Leeds defence Id be happy.

Post match reflection
at 21:24 21 Dec 2013

A lot of people just see goals conceeded and remember a mistake he made once weeks ago so jump straight onto bashing the goalkeeper, not the saves made, corners caught, through balls picked up etc etc.
Unfortunately the last line of defense means he is the difference between a clean sheet and not and that sometimes leads to undeserved slating.

Already people who attended the Southend game have told me he played well and dealt with certain situations. I still think he was a major factor in us beating Rotherham where he played very well, and that goal was anything but his fault as you will all agree.

have to disagree for the first goal, was really bad communication from goalkeeper, cant blame Rory for challenging for the ball just like a defender should do on all free kicks (and corners).

2nd goal I have no idea what was going through his head.

D-Alien, I do know people can take such things into account but the high majority of people do not, that is what irritates me and I see red and go ranting.
Fair play if some people don't like Lillis and yes every keeper including him can improve massively on parts of their game but at this level and for this club Lillis is a very good goalkeeper. He now does the simple things, the proper footballing things and quite frankly looks to be enjoying himself more which has improved his game.
But 2 games have seen a bad decision and an unfortunate incident out of him (maybe 3 with getting beat at his front post at Dag) and now people are on his back like the 3 losses are his fault.
TrueBlue83 was right in the 'defend as a team' We are Team Rochdale remember, we get back on the horse as one so lets do that. Remember we are league 2 and even though we have a fantastic squad we are going to have crazy days and horrible mistakes during some games because thats football.
