I think I would rather play with 10 players than play him.
We do need a CDM rather than any position on the pitch if we want to play JWP higher.
Most of our problems today stemmed from his passing ability , his lightweightedness , his ability to read the game , he cant direct a header. If he was not on the pitch then the other players would compensate and not have to rely on him doing a job.

Romeu was slow and getting slower, was not up to Prem pace any more and was a liability who had to scythe players down on the half way line and invariably got an early YC.
The team today suffered with JWP going missing in his new role for the entire first half plus a poor performance from Lavia and not enough decent passes from Dozy, who was at least lively. Not all Diallo's fault at all, he even made a couple of important interventions. [Post edited 21 Jan 2023 17:16]
