I can understand that they would want him back. Rusty always treated them like mates and told them they were such good players they could pass it round any team in the PL, all they needed was to be "brave". Unfortunately that's not reality. The reality is that in PL terms they're sh1t players and sh1t players can't win games in the PL by playing possession football.
Bringing Rusty back would be a disaster. We need a long term plan that includes winning games in the PL. That means having a style that can be played by mediocre players. WS promised one style that could do that (high tempo, pressing) but never delivered. We need to keep the long term plan in mind with this appointment. Yes, we need to win championship games first, but there's no point getting promoted with a style that will inevitably fail in the PL. |  | | |
