Income Tax in Wales 2019/2020. 12:30 - Nov 15 with 1126 viewstheloneranger

The way of collecting Income Tax in Wales is changing in 2019/2020 ...

"From April 2019, the UK government will reduce each of the 3 rates of income tax – basic, higher and additional rate – paid by Welsh taxpayers by 10p. Each year, the Welsh Government will then decide the 3 Welsh rates of income tax, which will be added to the reduced UK rates. The combination of reduced UK rates plus the Welsh rates will determine the overall rate of income tax paid by Welsh taxpayers".

"The Welsh Government proposes to set the first Welsh rates of income tax at 10p: this means the rates of income tax paid by Welsh taxpayers will continue to be the same as those paid by English and Northern Irish taxpayers."

The Welsh assembly does not have powers to vary income tax rates. The Scottish parliament does have power so Scotland has increased it's basically rate by 1p I think.

In April 2019 those powers will be devolved to the WG. How tax is collected won't change but the Welsh portion will be sent straight to the WG by HMRC.

The WG will have the power to raise income tax for Welsh tax payers. Be afraid.

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

The mind boggles at the thought of the detestable Carwyn Jones and his ‘band of merry men’ let loose on us one and all....

The phrase ‘Pi$$ up and Brewery’ comes to mind, treacherous sharks.

Think I’ll phuk off to Spain in March then for my retirement .....oh hang on a minute. 🙈😂

Poll: Where will we finish next season in the Championship ?

The WAG will rebuild Offa's Dyke in a bid to stop taxpayers escaping Wales.

Of course there is the chance that they will make the amount less than that in England!

As far as usefulness is concerned, I'm slightly more drawn towards better bombs than making Wales fully bilingual.

Funny? 🤔 You come across as a monolingual with a bit of an inferiority complex.

Poll: Who would you rather win? England or Sweden?
