South Africa v England 11:16 - Dec 26 with 11938 viewsexiledclaseboy

First test now. Saffers 97/4 just after lunch. England won the toss. Sam Curran does have a welcome habit of taking wickets in the first over of a spell. Done it twice today.

And it gave Hendricks a 5-for on debut.

I think the experiment of trying to turn Jos Buttler from being a sprinter into a marathon runner and Test cricketer is well and truly over.

He now looks like Moen Ali did before he was dropped, not sure what his job was in the England Test match batting line-up. Leave Buttler concentrate on his fantastic limited overs career and he is still young enough to maybe take over the captaincy when Morgan retires.

I really hope they keep the gloves away from Oli Pope and give them back to Ben Foakes for the Sri Lanka tour and give him a long run in the team.

Everyday above ground ... Is a good day! 😎

Foakes will be far better suited to cricket in Sri Lanka as he can keep wicket when stood up to the stumps.

Anyone else a tad concerned here.

I know there;s a long way to go and the odds are stacked against SA but this partnership - 🤣🤣🤣 as I write this Stokes strikes!

... And then Wood strikes ...

2 massive wickets in 8 balls. Sad that van der Dussen didn't get his maiden Test century, out for 98.

Yes, that will haunt him for a while that’s for sure. No sleep tonight.
