Shouldn't they be responding here and place maximum amounts allowed of certain items?

It's greedy of them to allow the selfish to buy over the top /more than usual amounts of products.

£9.99 for a bottle of house rum in Aldi/Lidl. Now £13 odd.

Thanks a f*cking bunch Senedd.

Yes, worst decision ever made, I pity the smaller shops.off licenses In Newport(especially) and even Cardiff, they do not stand a chance, when you can just jump in the car and pop over the border to stock up.

I think they brought this in, totally under the radar, when it came into effect, I was reading something on twitter about an online petition to stop it, but there were only 35 signatures.. I never saw one, didn't even know the min price per unit in Wales was coming in, till it was nearly upon us..

Even those little dumpy bottles, 1 unit have almost doubled in price in asda, 20 bottles now 10 quid, 6.25 if you live in England though..

And it was all to stop the super strength lagers and cider, yeah ok!!

The sneaky bastar*s.

State interference in life. They can't help themselves.

Won't make a lick of difference, but they've been seen to be doing something, no matter how transparently moronic it is.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

Why didn't they just ban cheap cider?

Why didn't they just leave well alone?

Banning cheap cider would have been about as effective as banning weed/cocaine/any other drug you care to mention. Those in thrall will get their fix somehow no matter how much it costs.

This way they can pat themselves on the back for a job they'll perceive as well done despite having no outcome other than making people pay a bit more for booze.

They did this morning to my wife and i . Innocently bought 6 tins of mushy peas as per usual and when we were going through the checkout the assistant said he could only let us have 5. Haven't heard the end of it off my wife 😂. She generally eats her body weight of mushy peas 😂

Were you limited to five air fresheners?

Doesn't mention loo roll, though.

5 of each item as well...who would buy 5 bags of pasta on a normal week?

Pavarotti.

I read that this minimum pricing will mean those of us in Wales on the borders/ within 15-30 mins that live close to English towns will spend there....poor for Welsh economy.
Cribbs Causeway seeing loads of bulk buying from us thirsty Welsh

Tried to buy six bananas in Aldi Carmarthen today, as we do every week. Got to the till and had to hand 2 back. Only allowed 4 of everything apparently.

Tesco Llanelli was like Christmas this morning. It was only missing the Christmas tree and the presence of the Salvation Army.

Leave it a week or so and the supermarkets will be nice and quiet with shelves full of whatever you want.

I think it's more likely that we will be like Italy whereby access to the supermarket is restricted and only limited numbers of people are allowed to enter. My friends and colleagues who live in the north of the country have sent me photos of current conditions and restrictions.

That will no doubt be the case sooner or later.

I called in to Lidl in Ammanford this morning at just before 10:00. People were social distancing and queuing a few feet apart. That was fine until the doors opened and it just went crazy...
The limited customer numbers would certainly make more sense and besides, us Brits tend to queue quite well.

Anyway, I got my 4 pack of toilet roll before they all disappeared :)
