It won’t be twice as bad, there will be spikes and then the flu will come back for the winter.

By all means go back into lockdown, then see how many false deaths from covid they can conjure up!

See how many more jobs are lost, lives are lost, homes are lost, relationships are broken.

As a (very) rough percentage how many of the deaths do you think are false deaths from covid?

To be honest, I’m not sure, what I do know is that not all deaths are from covid, this is why the figures are being corrected in different parts of the country.

If you jump to your death but had tested positive for covid, that goes toward the figures.

Many people around the country are fighting the cause of death because of this farce.

On the other hand, there was likely to be 1000s, if not tens of 1000s, who died from Covid early on, and were not tested.

I think there may have been early deaths from COVID.

The death rate is now lower than normal for the time of year. This could be because people who would have normally died now died in March or April with Covid so they died a few months before they would have.

The original poster is being selfish and only thinking of himself, my guess is that he is retired on a reasonable pension and suffering no financial hardship during this pandemic.

The government in all 4 home countries have to make difficult decisions ,for the short and long term of the country. It is a very fine line to be drawn between keeping people safe and keeping the country economically viable, plus saving peoples jobs and livelihoods. The money the government has lost and is spending has to be paid back, we have to pay it back and so will generations to come.

If you are so concerned, stay in, lock the door and let the rest of us try and get the country going again. This will keep you in the manner you have become accustomed to.

I seriously doubt there were thousands who died from coronavirus in the early stages as they were not tested.

During January February and March excess deaths were still below the 5 year average.

The death toll of covid is bad enough, wait until people start dying because they couldn't see a specialist or get treatment or operations during all this.

You can't even see a GP. I rang my GP because a longstanding problem had gotten worse. He told me to try ringing the physio hub although they would only speak to me, not doing face to face appointments (though they are now I believe) so after being told to do some exercises and having explained I was in too much pain to do said exercises I was told to ring my GP, who said ring the physio hub.....maybe I'll try again because my neighbour told me he had an appointment there yesterday.

With covid cases now so low, I believe in Morriston there are only 2 confirmed cases and 11 suspected, surely the specialists can start seeing patients again? I'm all for being cautious but we still have the Nightingale units running don't we? Surely they have the capability to do at least some face to face specialist appointments?

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

It's not about deaths. It's about the virus. If the virus is circulating, without a lockdown the NHS can't cope, unless we priortise who to treat. That would mean letting people die without medical help. That can't happen in any humane society.

Society won't cope with that level of sickness, the police would be understaffed so would the armed forces, food producers, lorry drivers, shop workers, prison officers etc, etc.

At least 5% of people of those infected need hospital treatment - that could mean around 12,500 people needing to spend an average of a week in hospital between Novemeber and Xmas in Swansea alone. We don't have that capacity even with the field hospitals.

Lets hoope we manage to control the otbreaks through local measures, but a natioanl lockdown can't be completely ruled out because it may be essential.

That is eloquent Scotia and where I am.Sadly, too many are dissing, even now,the dangers of this virus stating more die from things like TB or Coronary issues.Point is you dont catch them;you do this virus.

It s a killer but adly the attitude in this country is -if it dont affect me I aint bothered. Its why we see much crass behaviour which we will see again this weekend when weather is fine.

Schools should open before any pub or restaurant or bookies ffs.

Priorities all wrong ,IMO
