The main headlines, some US actor who before his death today, I'd never heard of... really, isn't there any other news more important than this? If he had died 3 months ago, I doubt it would have even made the news.

Oh yeah, he wasn't white. Sad that he's gone so young but hardly headline news in the UK with everything else we have on our plates.

BBC News at 6: the passing of a great British actress, Diana Rigg, star of The Avengers, a Bond girl, Game of Thrones and numerous more stage, TV & film roles and a Dame of the country, known throughout the country and the world beyond. Reported as the last item.

I rest my case.

Maybe it's an age thing. If you're below 35-40 would you have a clue about Diana Rigg? Same for Ben Cross, he was famous in his day but Chariots of Fire was 1981, how many teens will know of him?
Millions of teens and 20 somethings across the world know all the Marvel superheroes though, and the actors who play them.

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

Really, how old are you? You know of Rigg and Cross but not of the Black Panther. My 12 year old son knows all the Marvel characters but nothing of Rigg or Cross.

When was Cross last on our screens, not a repeat now, something new?

We can agree to disagree though.

I noticed this myself and thought, I wonder if it'll be picked up on the forum or will people shy away. Agree with you fully in this instance britferry.

Both sad demises should have been somewhere in the middle of the news in my opinion.

Somebody else mentioned Cross so I brought him up.

Yes the world saw Rigg on GoT but how many young people knew who she was or what she'd done?

Maybe try asking younger people to name cast members and I bet not many say Rigg, Maisie William...Peter Dinklage.....Emilia Clarke...Kit Harrington yes. I bet very few will name Rigg. In the same vein few young people could name Charles Dance or Jonathan Pryce but they know the Black Panther.

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

I think you will find the voters decided who would win the election.

Tories, whilst hated on here are still ahead in the Polls.

This is a surreal site sometimes as it does not reflect the general consensus in Great Britain as a whole

The BBC hit a new low yesterday, the presenter of BBC breakfast while interviewing a government minister about the threat from European commission president's threat to ban the export of vaccines sneered at him saying
"I think your flag is not up to the standard size government interview measurements"

What on earth is the British broadcasting company doing making fun of the union flag. I have never once heard them pass comments on the EU flag while interviewing an European political.

Even Starmer is proud to be interviewed with the union flag 🇬🇧 in the background.

So much for an impartial BBC .
