Update ** Cooper is now right out there on what he needs this week**
Nothing concrete or official from today’s pre match press gathering. And Cooper doesn’t want him to go !
Cooper quote -That aside no movement in and nothing has changed. I’ve made it very very clear we need players in, there’s nothing more than I can do, we need to strengthen and nobody must go, and that’s my view.

A great believer in taking anything you like to wherever you want to.
If Rodon is sold you'd hope Andy Scott has a more experienced option or two lined up in the couple of million £ region. To replace Joe with another 20 year old would be worrying, especially a 20 year old who is 6' on tiptoes and played right back when he could get a game at Twente last season.

Brentford have one of the best scouting and recruitment set ups in the league. They sell high but reinvest heavily. Watkins scored over 30 goals in 80 odd games before going to Brentford - he's always had an eye for goal, and converting to an out and out striker I bet was always in Brentfords thoughts.
You also fail to mention they've just paid what could be £10mill for a striker from League 1 so this analogy of them scratching around to fill a gap they have doesn't really ring true.
Yes, owned by a fan who is happy to reinvest in the team. He seems genuine, but so did Jenkins an co until the yanks came calling.

-we won't get 30mill for Rodon. -williams has played a few times already for Blackburn this season, not sure we'd get him that cheap. That's also a gigantic downgrade in quality. -why would city give us that guy for free? -i like Austin but he's got a terrible injury record and getting no younger. -no thanks on Zohore, poor scoring record.

Joe is a better prospect that Dan or Oli.
If the club waits, Joe is worth £30m.
If we bite the first offer then clearly its whatever.
Keep him for less than £30m.

Saw that but the rumours do seem to be gathering pace. Oli was apparently happy here, but money talks as is often the case for both player and club.
It would definitely make sense for West Ham if they could get him for £15m rather than £35m for that Tarwkoski lad however you spell it.
But knowing we have a younger player and what they are prepared to offer, going for the £15mill knowing they were prepared to spend over double that would be a bit silly.
The theory on one of the West Ham forums is that the Rodon link is just a hurry up for other targets (Rugani). No one seems convinced they could actually get Joe for £15m.

They definitely wont Jasper, but I am certain Winter will push for a bigger fee.

In the yanks defence, other than the James to Leeds debacle which Huw sorted we have pretty much made sure we have had maximum value when it comes to losing a first XI player.
I'm convinced Watford wanted Grimes but we set our stall out early.
