| UK breaking up on 11:44 - Oct 29 by CwmafanJack | There where 4 different national results, baring a very slim majority in Wales the only country that voted to leave the eu was england. Are you now saying that wales Scotland and northern Ireland are not countries? England wanted to leave the eu, the Scots didnt want it the northern irish didnt want it and without the influx of english people living in wales which tilted wales in to leave then wales would have been remain to this has been proven . Once again its english dominated british nationalism forcing its will on all other parts. This is nothing new. I'm glad that in the near future the union will be gone. |
The English swinging the vote in Wales isn't proven, it's a theory. Without knowing exactly how everybody voted how can it be proven? I'm with felix on the national vote issue too. It was the UK voting not the individual countries within the UK. Until or unless there is indy that won't change. Legally speaking Wales is part of the UK and is not a sovereign state in it's own right which is why we are not in the UN.

Wales is a nation. Wales is not in some sort of hostage situation. Wales is not a Principality. Under the UN Charter every people has the right to self determination. ‘The right of a people to self-determination is a cardinal principle in modern international law (commonly regarded as a jus cogens rule), binding, as such, on the United Nations as authoritative interpretation of the Charter's norms.[1][2] It states that people, based on respect for the principle of equal rights and fair equality of opportunity, have the right to freely choose their sovereignty and international political status with no interference.[‘. So ....it is the people of wales who will determine the future for Cymru. And not some rabid little Englander who hates the rest of the world. Feck Johnso, feck Mogg, and feck Farage.

I an not sure that not wanting to go along without the EU, who have stated from the very top it wants to build the world in its image, is actually hating the rest of the world. In fact I would think it is showing far more respect for the rest of the world and a deal less controlling arrogance.

Whether people like it or not the Welsh electorate are the “people of Wales” and the Welsh electorate voted to leave. I didn’t like it any more than others like me who voted to remain but that’s democracy for you. We welcome immigrants into Wales from all corners of the world and if they choose to live here they become members of the Welsh electorate and have a say in the future of Wales. Saying Wales wouldn’t have voted to leave if it hadn’t been for the “English” Immigrant members of the Welsh electorate is crazy. Perhaps we shouldn’t allow them to vote? Maybe we should build a wall at the border and keep those pesky English out?

| UK breaking up on 10:34 - Oct 29 by trampie | If you like Chester Chad under the agreement that would be firmly in Wales and I'm sure Perch would be happy as the Wirral would be well inside Wales borders. |
Yep I do like Chester, but what about Cumbria, partial to the lakes, surely they are Welsh?

Yes leave in Wales won by about 82000. Now the 1997 Welsh devolution vote, do you want to guess the winning margin? Don't worry, I'll yell you,......6,719. PS, that study isn't absolute evidence, it's just like a poll, they ask a few people then multiply it out. It's about as accurate as calling Wales a sovereign state!

I seem to have missed the evidence, were you talking about the speculation based on voting patterns of Welsh speaking areas. I know you don’t need me to point out the flaws in that Kilks, nor the many reasons why different types of areas may vote differently. Although are we not all immigrants. I cannot imagine the British Isles were much populated during the ice age.

Load of pish! How do you explain Merthyr, RCT, Torfaen, Caerphilly, NPT, Swansea, Bridgend, Newport all voting leave? Hardly ‘little England’ second home retirement areas are they? How do you explain Gwynedd, Ceredigion and Monmouth voting remain where you do find English second home owners? Utter myth created by people who cannot accept a result. Just accept it, it’s happening whether you like it or not.

Actually by the numbers we are over represented in Westminster so we are more equal than England. To level it up England need another 110 MP's or we need to reduce to 28.
