It’s irrelevant what it means to you. It’s what it means to everyone else, and clearly not everyone thinks it does mean everyone coming together in harmony... because that’s clearly not what it stands for in the slightest. You didn’t even know the origin of it until I told you.

Ask the countless home and businesses owners (many of whom are black) who have to deal with the mess this movement had made if they feel everyone has come together in harmony.

Don’t fall into the trap of the rest of the idiots, you are better than that. If you want to discuss the points then discuss them.

Most people are against racism. Not everyone is all for BLM, for obvious reasons. So if the former is what you want addressed then why push the divisive side of it? Seems it’s more like a desire for conflict than unity, disappointingly much like your demeanour since your return for whatever reason you have for it.

But hey, why use common sense when there is conflict to be had, right?
[Post edited 6 Dec 2020 13:15]

You are conflating the inexcusable behaviour of some people under the banner of BLM and footballers protesting against racism.

I must have missed the bit where after making their protest the footballers go out and attack police and local businesses.

But nobody else is saying these bold statements, only you.

So in this instance your standard is irrelevant as it is not everybody else’s standard - rightly so. You expect your interpretation to be the one that is universal even though by your own words you didn’t know much about the movement at all. So I find it quite amazing you think your interpretation is the one to follow.

No I haven’t asked anyone what it’s like to have their homes and businesses burned to the ground. I think it’s fairly obvious their feelings, don’t you?

Whether you like it or not, people will have a differing view to you about the organisation. It’s a divisive one by its very nature. But it’s WHY they disagree is what you need to be listening to. If you aim is to raise awareness to racism then you will probably align with far more people - yet knowing that you still seem determined to push an organisation you now realise is politically divisive.

I think what you have described is exactly what you are doing. You are clearly a staunch liberal and would rather have conflict with people that aren’t rather than discuss the very subject at hand that everyone would agree on.

It doesn’t seem like it’s about race to you, it’s about politics. Which is why you are happy to bypass the main goal of racial equality (which people would agree with) and continue with the divisive rubbish which people clearly don’t. But that’s your choice. It’s a shame.

You read what you want to read, you jump on a notion and you run away with it.

It's not important at the start whether it means that much to you or not, but 500 posts in it's your whole life.

That's your nature. I'm a bit similar but you are the extreme.

If you wrote a single sentence on anything to do with black lives mattering pre George Floyd I'll eat a ginger man in your honour.

You've taken the direction you've chosen from the stuff you have read. I'd have to trawl back through all your posts on here to see where the trigger was.

But I did that for 5 minutes the other night and it was effing depressing.

The person that didn’t think that Luis Suarez racially abused Patrice Evra misses the point again.

It’s an anti racism protest. Black footballers get racially abused, footballers are highlighting it.

Some people may not like the form of protest, however that is insignificant when compared to how Black footballers who are racially abused must feel.

Perspective.

Hang on a minuite. You have just redefined the taking the knee as a "Football issue".

"It’s an anti racism protest. Black footballers get racially abused, footballers are highlighting it"

The BBC called it "support for equal opportunities for all peoples of colour" or similar in other words a widespread aim not limited to foottball. This is a perfectly honourable aim but pollitical. Its a muddle.

Fans object to pollitical statements and booed. It is not a football issue. Fottballer on footballer abuse at professional level is rare with JT and Suarez being 7 years and 4-5 years ago I remember Emre getting done 10 year +ago and the Leeds Utd Goal keeper more recently.

I’m not, they are demonstrably linked.

The kneeling and black power fist is the sign of BLM, the organisation. That organisation was founded by marxists and has huge racist and anti Semitic links with clear goals to dismantle the western nuclear family, abolish the police and destroy capitalism.

That movement joined with ANTIFA is what has been attacking American cities for the best part of a year.

As I said, football has a Kick it Out campaign. If this is really about race then let’s do something involving them that isn’t politically connected and get everybody on board.

But of course, it’s all about politics so that wouldn’t have the desired effect.

The Premier League’s management roster currently comprises:

8 English Managers
2 Portuguese Managers
2 Spanish Managers
1 Austrian Manager
1 Argentine Manager
1 Croatian Manager
1 German Managers
1 Norwegian Manager
1 Northern Irish Manager
1 Italian Manager
1 Scottish Manager

Are you honestly trying to make out it’s some sort of closed shop? The only two considerations are can a manager bring success and can he generate increased income.

Melanin, or lack of, simply doesn’t enter into the equation: that’s a fantasy.

The lack of British born Black managers is a fact not a fantasy. Why that is the case needs to be understood and any barriers addressed.

No, disagree.

We are two sides of the same coin, hence why we get on but also clash. You jump in emotionally, always have done. I will analyse things and take a more logical approach. Sometimes we end up in the same spot, as we do for many football subjects as your emotional thoughts often come with good instincts - politically we clearly don’t.

So while you think the origins of a movement isn’t important, to someone like me it’s vital. It’s not just the origins, it’s the aims for Gods sake, the manifesto.

I have never said Black Lives Matter pre George Floyd, you are right. Why would I? Has it ever been a topic discussed here? It’s not something I’ve ever seen. But I’m not sure what point you are making there.

My views are formed by what I read, see and research. Isn’t that how most views are formed then?

Listen, you don’t like racists... I don’t like racists. You like equality... I like equality.

This whole thing is about BLM, I am telling you for a fact what it represents. You are saying “yeah but it doesn’t mean that to me”. So what’s the issue here exactly? If you have a race based issue with the world or the game, we will probably agree. Why are you so insistent to filter that through a divisive organisation?

That’s where I think this is more a political thing than a racial one. As soon as the aim (abolishing racism) was muddied by having it aligned with what many see as a political connection, you (and others) would remove it and reframe it so everyone can be on the same page again.

But there is no interest in that. I genuinely think people desire the conflict more than creating a solution.

I do not know what you are talking about. Some historic gripe with some past poster perhaps?

Here is what Sky says the Knee is about

"Footballers have been taking a knee at the start of matches since football resumed in June as part of global sporting protests against racial injustice, police brutality and systemic discrimination against black people."

Its got nothing to do with football and is an honourable aim. I have no gripe with he South Wales constabulary. That's my shit. I am not interested in issues with downtown New York. They live in a rich democratic socety and can sort their own problem out as they wish and have recently dumped Mr Trump.

The Black Lives Matter thing, let's call it that in an attempt to stay neutral and avoid your bullsh1t usual type of reply, has gained more traction than Kick It Out.

That's why they are sticking with it, not politicising it ffs

It gained more traction with who exactly?

It’s gained no traction, many sports that have adopted it has seen mass decline in viewership and engagement. Even the 75% black dominated NBA who have now said they will not be doing it next season.

Is that because everyone is racist? Or do you think there may be a wider political issue not everyone is on board with?

Since BLM started I haven’t seen such a rapid decline in race relations. BLM has put Kick it Out back years and years. That’s because people with a liberal political motive are on a crusade to push that agenda.

The point is mate you need to fuel your drug.

You know what you're doing and you love it.

You deliberately miss the point because that doesn't fit your purpose and MO.

Let's leave this by stating a fact.

The Black Lives Matter movement maybe doesn't mean the same to everyone.

* The one's who want to hark back to the original movement and think they are clever for exposing this, then good for you, you were able to feed the drugs and feast on that for a few weeks.

* The ones that just want black lives to actually matter and can see clearly why parts of society (football authorities) are taking a stance on this.

So let's just leave the nonsense, don't make a big song and dance about it, don't think you're clever because you repeat crap from your echo chamber and lets move on.

Again completely disagree.

There is nothing “clever” about knowing the ins and outs of political movements. If you are going to join a movement and make it your new favourite thing, at least read the manual. You are just as combative as I am when it comes to making points so I wouldn’t bother taking the high road on that point.

Black lives do matter, of course they do. In my 36 years on this planet I’ve never heard anyone suggest they don’t. There are certainly some issues in many minority groups around the world, but to pretend they are all down do racism is just naive.

As I said, if race was the main issue here, it wouldn’t be driven through a divisive political movement. The main aim to even begin with would be to get everyone on the same page, you can’t achieve anything otherwise, yet that fundamental building block isn’t there with BLM. So do away with it and create something with aims that ACTUALLY represent your thoughts and go from there. 99.9% of people would be on board.

Having an opinion isn’t being clever and it most certainly isn’t nonsense. I’ve never been shy to state my views and stand by every single one of them, they are common sense. If the subject is being discussed then I’ll be discussing it.

But maybe we should stick to football as we clearly won’t make any inroads with eachother politically.

Nothing is copy and pasted, if it is then I will make it clear.

I won’t be discussing politics on the phone with people from planetswans regardless how well I get on with someone. As I said, every single point I ever make I can expand and explain in great depth. Happy to discuss any of them where words are clear and can’t be twisted. Get a list together and I will make my way through them as and when.

The FA and other sporting organisations are just as guilty of virtue signalling as people are. If they think it’s good for the brand then they will do it, BLM is the hot topic.

What do you make of Arsenal supporting the fashionable BLM but shunning the plight of the oppression of Muslims in China? Do you know the NBA did the same? Do you know why?

Have a guess. Starts with M and ends with Y and sounds like honey.

That isn’t whataboutery, these are sporting organisations that are making a stance against oppression (or appear to be).... but only if it’s the right kind of oppression that doesn’t hurt their sponsor deals.

I’m telling you the reason why a divisive Marxist movement has spread, you can’t genuinely think these organisations are going it for genuine reasons when everything points to the opposite?
