| Millwall fans behaviour today ? on 20:39 - Dec 6 by Dr_Parnassus | And you have been daydreaming of replying no doubt ;) I will always stand up for what I believe in, as will you. You currently believe the organisation BLM is all sweetness and light, I don’t. It really boils down to that. I’ve given you my reasons why it isn’t so and also the obvious affect it is having on the cause. You continue to want to support it. That’s your choice and haven’t attacked you for it even though I think it’s destructive. Choices and freedom. Thankfully it’s something to value. |
Absolutely not. I came on to write a football post but it's becoming more and more clear this isn't really a football forum anymore. As long as that sh1tty Brexit thread is allowed to stay this forum will become more and more a political scrap between right and left. It's boring.

| Millwall fans behaviour today ? on 20:39 - Dec 6 by Andy1300 | So do you think there should be quotas for jobs? Say we were looking for a black manager and we had to select a black person to fulfil the quota, what if that black manager wasn’t right for the job, would you be happy with that? |
It should always be the best man for the job, but how do you get to be the best man for the job?

It’s life, life isn’t all about football. If you don’t want opinions on non football issue, just have a football only forum, it’s really not hard to understand.

| Millwall fans behaviour today ? on 19:31 - Dec 6 by andrew | It’s nothing to do with millwall fans being racist, it’s to do with the knee, a symbol of BLM. Fans don’t want that sort of riffraff in the game. An armband saying kick it out, team photo of both teams mixed with their arms round eachother, no to racism messages ok advertising boards yes! Taking the knee like the thugs at BLM were forcing the police to do is a no no. |
Put your politics in the bin and look at it as an anti- racist protest. I’m not subjected to racial abuse so don’t think it’s appropriate for me to tell people who are affected by it how they should protest.

You probably came back 6-8 weeks too early then I’d say. This site will be political for a fair few weeks yet until late January time is my guess when the political climate settles. This is what happens when politics spills over into sport. Which is why politics needs to be removed from it completely, keep the non divisive campaigns and get rid of the politics. Everyone will be happy.... apart from those that want it to be about politics that is, and there are a fair few of them.

Exactly- if there are barriers in the game these need to be removed to allow equal competition.

I see the poppy as a symbol of remembrance of the millions of men and women of all nationalities and races, who died all over the world in war. It's therefore apolitical in my mind. It's just the way I feel, and I think i'm entitled to my views, and I don't want anyone else's views pushed in my face. If you support BLM that's fine for you, but I don't, my choice end of story. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Well, the stats are just a guess but we’ll go with them. How many of the blacks are sticking their hands up and actually putting themselves forward though? It’s all well and good saying there are not enough but they’ve got to do the courses and show willingness in the first place to even come into consideration. There are a lot more variables than just the possibility of club boards discriminating, which I don’t for one minute think they are.

In football? Clubs covet success, they scout and headhunt. We’ve had our pocket picked enough times to know how it goes.

You would want to do licence holders vs positions acquired. Everyone is entitled to do their licenses and there are no barriers there. Then you would need to put some sort of weighting into that for how many of those license holders can speak the language as those that can’t may not want to manage in a country in a job where communication is key but can’t easily get that message across, I know I wouldn’t. It’s a completely different entity to playing.

Completely different, and no matter how good or even great they may have been on the pitch when it comes to management most appointees are just a bad run of results from being shown the door. There’s not too much in the way of sentiment on display, is there?

Ah right ok so because you believe in the cause of the poppy appeal, you think thats ok to be a part of football, but a gesture that our players obviously feel they want to carry out isn't. Pushed in your face!? Its a tiny period of time before kick off. Grow up and let them do it if they want to.

There were many people who supported the Nazi party in it's infancy, because one of it's goals was full employment. Of course it's probably a very simple world to you, but some of us have a little more insight.

Haha so you don't think you can compare the poppy shirt gesture to the BLM gesture.... But you somehow bring the rise of NAZism into the equation!? [Post edited 6 Dec 2020 21:42]

Good article in the daily mirror today about Millwall bowing To fan pressure to ditch the knee. Where as Colchester chairman has not
| Millwall fans behaviour today ? on 19:25 - Dec 8 with 424 views | jackrabbit | “ A statement yesterday by the Millwall Supporters’ Trust said that the booing was a “reaction to the war memorials and statues of [Winston] Churchill defaced by the BLM organisation and the extreme political views they hold, and for which ‘taking the knee’ is associated”. It added: “We fervently believe that the motives of those behind the booing were not racist.” The Trust, however, also acknowledged that the players were taking a knee in a stance of anti-discrimination and not to support any political organisation. “The action needed was not to boo the gesture,” it said.” Can’t argue with any of that. | | | |

All the Millwall fans clapped as well. At last people in football concentrating on real racist issue and not the BLM political agenda.

QPR players took the knee too and weren't booed so it's good all round.
