| Real Winters 15:05 - Dec 17 with 2347 views | onehunglow | Just wtf is going on.Anyone remember them This morning,we left our modest home on the coast for a walk over the fields to some livery stables for Chrimbo pressies. The garden has roses still in bloom and daffodils up and looking ready to flower. We are in the north of England ffs. At the stables ,we saw Tarquin and Pippa riding in shirt sleeves and jodpurs and I was also in shirtsleeves. We had coffee and cake OUTSIDE watching the ducks and geese foraging away. I cannot remember the last meaningful frost we 've had. It aint good really.Something is amiss with the climate and those denying it are as bad a those underestimating covid. | |

Same here used ride horses over the led in clase all hours and go rustling other horses great winter nights they were [Post edited 18 Dec 2020 8:57]

He never said.He was a difficult man and didn't tell me much apart from Jesus and the Cross and the fact I d face certain damnation if I didn't repent;like many fathers really in post war deadly non -conformist Wales. We weren't your average poor Swansea family we here so much about. All I wanted to do was leave south Wales really and that' s a genuine truism. I remember Penlan common as unbearably bleak but a we get older sepia memories become more pleasant

| Real Winters on 12:23 - Dec 18 with 732 views | Swanjaxs | No it's still bleak. I got bitten by a Shetland pony whilst crossing Penlan Common once, on my way to visit my then girlfriend who lived in Middle Road. | |

I lived in Middle Road .My dad built the three bungalows just before King Head Road. Only stayed there for 2 yrs as my old girl hated it there. Today ,here ,it is 15 degrees .! Crazy. Its resembling the ricefields of /SE Asia.Summat is badly wrong with the world

All ok mush, stepson had his results back this morning, negative, back in tonight 👠Bit of advice for anyone on here that might need a test in the coming weeks, go online and use the NHS website if possible, very fast turnaround. If you choose to phone for a test you will come under Swansea Bay Health Board and they are extremely hard pushed at the moment, your talking a 4 day turnaround at least at the moment.

Actually, they weren't "upper" class although,as you might know,I do not recognise class whether it be working ,middle ,upper or upmyarse. Nobody is any better than me and I can hold my own interlectually with most ,if I put my mind to it. Many seen as "upper" class are what we call "thick tw@ats. Their public school background does them no favours as far as I can see as regards attitudes to life. Believing you are ,by birth, somehow more worthy passes well over me. As for sending pre pubescant Pippas and Tobys away to a cold ,old school miles way from anywhere only to be bullied unmercifully ?Nah-it's a disadvantage and we should see through that. The likes of Corbyn and Johnson are perfect examples of how public schools do little for the individual ;they may get offered lucrative jobs via nepotism from Almer Mata ,but as individuals-Nah. That hunt was similiar to that found in areas far removed from "privilege";plenty of "ordinary" rural farming folk liked the Hunt if for no other reason thhat ripping foxe to pieces and then getting ratarsed. It had to be done though,aj ,Belvoir is a nice area though. The locals -east Midlanders ,however are total shytes. There

Totally agree but I have seen videos of hunters assaulting protesters with their whips and 4x4s I detest them and wouldn't have been able to let my new found friends know either....

Yep,and it i becasue country people see themselves as different and why country "sports" are a way of life for them. I am no animal rights chap but chasing foxes with hounds and horses and then enjoying the bloodbath is weird to me.Im not one who enjoys animals or people getting ripped to shreds. Ive seen too much of that. As for arming with shotguns to traipse over Scottish moors to blow away "sporting" birds is something alien to me.Not sure many birds are that sporting really. Poor bastards just seem to have no sporting chance at all. i am also dubious about angling too.

Hello chum. Not really as Im not being beaten to crap a I was when living in Swansea as a kid,not having squabbling relatives who came around to add to the mix of toxiticy. I well remember the winter of 63 when my dad's business was closed down due to 3 months of frost/ice/snow. Very tough times when he had to go out and flog Ventilators door to door to feed us. No help from the Government . Living here,we get little if any snow and we see Wales and the Pennones with a decent covering.Looks beautiful. Had a dip in New Brighton with many others NYD and the snow could clearly be seen from the Sea shore. Wonderful.

Now there's a thing to admit publicly It's brass monkeys here, it looks wintery, everything is glistening white as the frost forms, even the roads look white though there's no snow. and the wind is absolutely vicious, biting.
