Not us, been very careful where any online purchases are coming from.

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

They are import duties not Brexit duties. Buy British and save import duty, plus less transport miles. Better for the UK and the planet.

just on about this on the One Show... woman bought shoes from Europe

£79 + £9 postage

then got given

Import Duty & Handling of £28.49 plus £4 VAT... she queried it and ended up with a late payment fine of £18.50 too

If the value of the goods is under £135, the seller has to tell you, otherwise the delivery company collects it. Her shoes were in a sale, the RRP was over 300 quid, so she didnt get told at time of sale... crafty

If only such luxury goods like shoes were available in this country.

The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which.

Beware a new scam. People are receiving emails purporting to be from MHRC saying you recently made a purchase within the EU and duty of £35 is payable. Please click on link provide.

HMRC will NOT contact you this way.

You can forward the email to report@phishing.gov.uk

You can also forward any phishing or scam emails you get to them.

18 of the 27 EU countries are opted out of the EU working time directive. The UK has not changed that yet, though it may do if it suits both companies and workers in the UK.

Workers in the UK have the right to strike following a legal ballot.

That was one of the greatest worker achievements in the 1980s whereby workers could not be called out on strike by the whim of a union leader. The end of wildcat strikes has protected workers rights and their pay as they now have to agree to strike.

Opting out of the 48 hour working week and the "right" to withold your labour were part of working within the EU so what's changed ?

The right to strike is more involved than just a straight ballot. It's really difficult now.

The Uk took it's human rights act from the EU.
