Anyone waiting for an operation?

SBUHB are apparently hoping to start up elective surgery in NPT again, around the last week of February.

Lets hope the case numbers continue to fall and the vaccinations start to help.

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

My daughter has had appointment after appointment cancelled, I could breach the swearing guidelines on this topic. However, it seems if you can pay that’s ok.

Yep they tell you because of Covid they do not have the staff or the facilities available, But with your next breath say you can pay and the staff and facilities suddenly become available and i do not mean carting you off to a private hospital.

Sancta Maria have just opened a spanking new hospital in SA1 , there's money in medicine . I have been tempted to get a quote for a partial knee replacement , but after 9 months of constant pain today I managed to have another cortisone injection (denied previously due to the pandemic) , provided by in my local surgery by the lovely Kate Rees ex Swans physio .That should keep me going for a couple more months

Lady I know has just been diagnosed with Stage 3 cancer, she’s recently had surgery in a private hospital on the NHS. Spoke to a neighbour who's a consultant at an NHS hospital and I was told our hospitals aren’t doing any surgery other than cancer work.

The SBUHB websit says different, it says urgent cases are being seen.

I've been on the priority list for over a year now. I have tried ringing the waiting list office but they don't answer the phone.

Priority operations are being done. A friend of mine has gone into Morriston today. She is having her bladder removed tomorrow.

Well unless they call me in next week they'll have to wait until I've had another pre-assessment, it'll be my 5th.

I can't post what I'd like to post right now.

UPDATE,

last September my surgeon told me I was in the next group to get my surgery. Turns out that wasn't true.
He is doing elective surgery this month but I'm not high enough on his list now, 6 months later.
Maybe I should have kicked up a fuss, gone to the press. Right now I am so angry I feel like doing something stupid.

All this is deeply upsetting me.
It feels inadequate to simply post supportive text on a fan forum.

Just wish all those in times of trouble the bet of luck.

That is all we can do and it makes me feel better ,frankly,as Im grateful for what I have and what me and wifey been challenged with.

We need to slag Steve off more

Poll: Christmas. Enjoyable or not
