Travel - £5000 fine 14:47 - Mar 23 with 891 viewsbuilthjack

Johnson and co are bringing this in by the sound of it. Go on a plane and you get a £5k fine.
So the rich can go but the poor can’t.
Why’s that then?

Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

They should confiscate your passport for a second offence. No rich or poor scenario then.

Plenty of rich where you least expect them Ken.

It's not whom you think either.

Plenty in your town are "rich" in comparison. You need to move to somewhere poor.

There’s a few rich and plenty of poor in my area. Same as most areas.
Why should I move??
What’s that got to do with what I said??

Unfortunately it’s always the case that these things have less impact on the wealthy.

In college a fellow student used to park her car wherever she fancied every day and pay off the parking tickets once a month.

Who said the rich can go? It's a 5k fine for foreign travel without good reason isn't it? Doesn't it apply to everyone?

I see nothing exempting the rich,

Unless you're complaining because the rich can afford to pay?

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

Love it around your way mate, had a static caravan in one hundred house, fantastic to go there and unwind.

A great believer in taking anything you like to wherever you want to.

The point is that someone paying, let’s say, £50k on a family holiday, may no5 be bothered if it costs £55k instead.

Is this fine "per person"? in which case it depends on the size of the family.

The rich always do as they please because they can afford it. Maybe they should set the fine at £1,000,000, that should put people off.

Or just confiscate passports as someone else said.

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

They’ve a carve out in place for those visiting their overseas second homes anyway. Like Johnson’s father was in Greece or wherever it was.

You're absolutely right - people are twisting and manipulating news to fit their agenda. This forum is riddled with this sort of thing.

The rich are not exempt in this situation.

If Bojo had any balls he'd have given his father a public rollocking for that! Then he'd have paid the fine for him!

Personally, because of the probable rule breaking by rich people I think 2 weeks in prison for one of the parents AND the fine is a better idea.

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

Let' s face it,many on here could be decribed as "rich".
It's all relative anyway.I've done ok I reckon but I'm a pauper in comparison with people 5 min drive from here yet wealthy beyond measure compared to the poor /deprived 15 mins drive the other direction.

We brand people, by
Birthplace
Family
Occupation of father
Mother's family
School
Accent

Look at the state we're in.
