Unfortunately those playing days are long gone, and although never forgotten he can’t live on them forever. I would hazard a guess though he hasn’t given as much sweat and blood as some of us over the years 😉 |
There has been mention of ex-players returning to manage our Club. One thing I have learnt over the years is that ex-players do not necessarily make good managers/coaches. There are numerous examples of that, Bobby Charlton and Bobby Moore prime cases, and you couldn't get finer players. Equally, there are many examples of people who did not have great professional careers, for example, Arsene Wenger, who have forged great managerial/coaching careers. For me, one of the best Welsh Managers was Mike Smith, someone who had no professional career to speak of. The same could be said of Steve Cooper, who took an average team to the Play-Offs last Season and may do the same this Season. Let's not be too quick to judge him or his coaching staff. The Season has not yet ended.

Brendan Rodgers is another. Also Mourinho.
| Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back. |

Oh stop being so dramatic if anyone had offered him something better he would have been gone in a flash, it is just that no one wanted to offer him anything better.

just badges coaches mun.....no good listen to those who know on here! Problem is all coaches /managers today are bages coaches you cant get a gig without them. BUT its what those who have the badges make of them....like other professions MBAs,DMs etc but doesnt mean the person is any good as a manager!

Past sweat & blood has nothing to do with now, we respect his playing ability. For goodness sake stop living in the past, it has gone. We are questioning what the man does now, because no one seems to know. Seeeing as you are defending him, do you know what he contributes now?
