When are people going to wake up to what's happening?
If they got nothing to hide let's have a proper
Independent inquiries.

Tory cronyism on 17:32 - Apr 14 with 2027 viewsCatullus

If there was a proper inquiry, who is going to do it? Labour don't want one any more than the tories!
Cronies, lobbying, jobs for the "boys" access for money, they are all at it and the whole place stinks.

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

We are having an independent enquiry do you not pay attention to the news?

Are we going to have an independent enquiry into the Union funding of the Labour Party. The unions select the Labour leader as well as paying for some Labour MPs.

It is not as if Tony Blair and Gordon Brown slipped away into a private retirement.

So the millionaire business people to give millions to the tories don't get any favours, yeah right.

That is not what I said . I just pointed out it was a bit rich labour supporters creating a big fuss.

Business always approach the government in power to lobby for legislation that suits them . It is part of politics. Unions lobby the labour party.

Anyone who does not think it goes on must have led a very sheltered life.

Even the public can lobby the government by signing petitions, that once they have enough signatures have to be debated in parliament.

The other method of trying to influence the government is protest marches which often depend into a violent riot. Extinction rebellion black lives matter to name just a couple of recent ones.

Yes there's an inquiry but what will they find? It won't change a thing, like I said, nobody really wants it because this particular swamp runs deep and murky.

It's well past time that political parties were centrally funded, no unions or rich individuals buying governments. They should all get exactly the same tv/media time, the same amount for advertising, as long as they put up a minimum number of candidates. Smaller partirs and individuals should need to make a properly audited claim against central funds.

I know we end up paying from our taxes but tis' better than the money men and union bigwigs gaining sway.

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

We plebs would still be paying the same amount of poll tax as the rich if there hadnt been the riot over it.

Sometimes you only get somewhere with a violent struggle, where does peaceful protest get you?

Every time the Tories get found out, and that is often, you get the people on here blaming Labour.
Perch, I know you didn't like miners, or poor people. But give it a fcking rest. It's tedious.

Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

Why do the same faces always attack the Labour party rather than face the facts. We know they are politicians. We know politicians bend the word.

We should have some kind of saying that is used when the people roll out the baggage.

There’s good and bad on all sides of the political divide and Labour, like the Conservatives have questions to answer, but the mud slinging on here isn’t helpful and there are issues to be addressed and questions to be answered.

What’s required is a full no nonsense transparent public enquiry in to what's taken place and then some stringent legislation to govern what takes place in future. Is that likely to happen - no way on earth because there are snouts in the trough. We will have an enquiry, but we’ll only get to know what they want us to know. There’s a lot of cynicism around the Grenfell enquiry!

It’s just like the PPE and Covid procurement scandals, there was a fast track e mail system in place for associates of the politicians, contacts and select others where their offers of help could have an inside track.

We need transparency, honesty and accountability, but we won’t get it.

Well actually you would have been paying a quarter of the poll tax . Only 1 in 4 adults actually pays rates , community charge.

The idea of the poll tax was that all adults would pay the poll tax at a much reduced rate.

Needless to say the 3/4 of the population who would have to start paying it objected.

And this is a member of the 3 emergency services talking about violent struggle.

Hope you don't get a shout to any Rich person,Eddie. If you, do, don't treat them with the contempt you show on here for anyone not a full on class warrior like yourself.

You and Kenny enjoy slagging off a working class "poor" city ,one with many "deprived" people. So it seems rather hypocritical to slag off fellow working class/poor,who despise the rich/privileged as much as you do.

Maybe we should have equal pay for all and only have differential if your job directly benefits the State. That would mean you Chrissy getting the same as one on working in McDonalds.
No?
Everyone wants to earn a much as possible including you and you aint bothered as to how much more you would be paid .

Everyone is s socialist on here all for equality in everything .Trouble is if wages were lowered to higher others then rockets would fly.

You do know the poll tax was actually fairer than the current council tax system.

There are 2 afults in our house, there are 5 adults living next door, they make considerably more rubbish than us but pay the same. They use twice as much (at least) as us but pay exactly the same.
In NPT the council tax for a band D house is more than the same band in Mumbles. Why is it fair?
We should pay for the services we use, not by the value of our house. I feel the same about the VED charge, scrap it and put up the tax on fuel, those that use the most will pay by usage, not by the value of their car then put a purchase tax on cars graded by emissions so the most polluting cars cost even more to buy.

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?
