It was a right wing echo chamber six months ago according to some.
The point is the threads are no problem, it’s how the abuse deteriorates the original post that’s the problem, not the political opinion. I’m unsure how many different ways to say it. Kerouac etc, isn’t the issue, it’s the contempt thereafter and the baiting that comes afterwards that comes from both political viewpoints that encourages hate.
So regardless the network has nowhere to go but to delete them.
BTW, when I took this site over the main problem was idiots from the so called left who abused people continuously that was the problem. You may have noticed they are no longer here. I run this site for reasons most people know, so I will take issue with allegations of a left wing echo chamber when originally it was allegedly the opposite. Maybe try a few football posts and a bit of solidarity and see where that gets us ?

From what I've seen, some of them have left... and then came back when the other site proved to be spectacularly dull.
I suspect that these are the very same people who are hitting the complain button instead of making their own arguments in response, and now they win.

You are confused.
Capitalism is not what is going on in China, it is a socialist market economy.
The results achieved in the last 40 years has been the result of a mixture of slave labour (which International corporations have taken advantage of - the polite word for it is 'Globalism') and State-owned enterprises and mixed-ownership enterprises.
What seems to have happened across the West is some sort of an informal deal...the Socialists have accepted that Socialist economics don't work and have agreed to 'go along' with 'Capitalism' (that is really just a word that describes human productive activity made efficient by loans and debt created by banks, property rights and the rule of law)...or certainly just, 'stay out of the way'...in return for their dominance in cultural fields.
The problem is that their outsized influence in our culture has managed to convince some idiots, and the young (who on the whole are naive, uneducated and have not been taught the history of the 20th century in full - the evils of Socialism couldn't be admitted to in our educational establishments as that would have been a tad awkward for all of the Socialists who had become ensconced in the education establishment), to give Socialism another try...because we didn't kill enough people in the name of Socialism in the 20th Century, evidently. | |
