Lefties in Local Authorities conspire with Lefties in Housing Associations to ensure that very few of their properties get into private ownership.
The trick is to make it look like their working wonders, whilst in actual fact they are not even trying . They really don't like the idea of young people buying their own homes, because it's
not a Lefty thing to do, they tend to see potential house buyers as Tories or people who could turn into Tories soon after buying their home.
Many years ago, medium sized building contractors used to enter the house building industry if their core business went quiet, they may build many developments of 4 to 8 starter homes on smaller sites It was not unusual for them to build and sell these homes
at zero profit, because the objective of the company managers was to retain their workforce by keeping their tradesmen on their books. Their men were they're biggest asset.
Local Authorities again, didn't like this type of thing continuing because it was still smelling a bit Tory to them, so they started putting every obstacle and hurdle in the way
of Private Developers, whilst at the same time fast tracking Housing Association applications which would only provide mostly rental accommodation, with a small number of 'purchasable' properties.
The LA's like the Housing Associations because they are not for profit organisations, but they both should share the blame for the lack of affordable property, between them, they manipulated the exclusion of private developers and that effectively stifled proper competition in the housing market. This problem was always going to create more problems at the 'first rung' of the market, for first time buyers. |

Then others base their opinion of you on what they believe you meant and that's where problems can start.

Remember when plenty of us were called racist for disagreeing with BLM. It wasn't (at least noit in my case, I won't speak for others) because I am racist I just had genuine concerns about BLM's stated aims and their political aims.

That was very much a case of people deciding my posts meant something astly different to what I actually meant.
