Because my family are from Swansea and its surrounding locales ,raised and schooled in Swansea , live & work mainly in Swansea, have the majority of of my immediate family living in Swansea , my friends live in Swansea , my happiest memories are associated with Swansea and following the Swans . I have no connection with anyone say living in Wrexham who more than likely follow Wales but that's the only thing which binds us together ,we happen to be born and live in Wales ,my connection to the Club runs far deeper than my connection to the national team . You may see it differently which is your prerogative.

It produces good local players for the national team since the academy was set up by Huw Jenkins and co era. Swansea and Wales are linked permanently. Same soil, same grass, same air, same history. The FAW had an opportunity to follow the same footballing philiosophy of Swansea but did not take it and went for Man Utd rub off glamour of Giggs over a technician it realy needed.

Swansea has been providing local players for the national team long before the Huw Jenkins and co era.

The best players Swanses has produced for Wales came a long time before Huw Jenkins or even academies in general. There wil always be barren years, there have been a few in the last 10 years.
