Now Trampie, here is a lesson in value, as you were struggling with the concept last time we spoke (and every other time we have spoken in the last 10 years).
So just take my 3 bets for today for example. It appears my bookmaker is now using me as a guide to tell them when they are off so are giving me the “marker $250” tag.
These are the three matches I identified as being too large a price (again it isn’t a prediction they will win on these occasions, they are just too big).
Note the prices I have backed them at.
Now look at what their prices are in the market now, the exchange has similarly shortened:-
As you can see regardless of if they win these particular matches - I am beating the market consistently. I’ll lose a bunch, I’ll win a bunch and at the end of it all, the value over market I have taken will show the profit.
Which takes us back to getting 11/10 on tails, which is an even money shot. It may not land on tails that particular time, but over a large number of flips I will be guaranteed to be in profit as I’m taking the value side.
Casper Ruud is an example above, he is more than a fair chance to lose today as he hates grass and Humbert is a very decent grass player. So I have backed him not necessarily expecting he will certainly win, I just know he would win this game more than the 55% of time which is what the $1.80 translates to. I had it down as far more like 65% of the time… which is what the $1.56 price they moved it to represents.
