I was referring to the statement.
"The German health minister saying that by the end of the winter, you'll either be vaccinated, recovered from covid or dead. "

Well he must have been speaking about me , two out of 3 ain't bad

"In a free society, the State is the servant of the people—not the master."

If that were true we wouldn't be in the situation we are would we?

That would depend on what you consider a "vast majority" doesn't it?

It would, but the statement was a "vast, vast majority".

Also this "unwell for a few days with a bit of a cough and then get over it" I know a lot of people who've had covid now. Very few have just had a bit of a cough for a few days, and they are mostly middle aged and fit. Most have reported severe fatigue for over a week, and they're vaccninated.

In some age groups over 10% of infections require hospital treatment, if they aren't vaccinated that is, I wouldn't refer to that as being the vast, vast majority having a cough for a couple of days and getting over it.

What do you consider a "vast, vast majority", would you care to put a number on it?

It's an idiom really isn't it.

But I'll play along and say a conservative estimate of 75%.

25% is a significant underestimate in my experience of knowing people with covid and them just having a cough and being better in a few days, and they happen to be vaccinated in most cases.

In fact I know one asymptomatic infection (who recently got reinfected) and one who only lost their smell (who happens to be obese). Aside from that I reckon I know 50 - 70 people who've been really quite ill at home (some of whom still suffer some effects today from wave 2 infections), another 5 who have ended up in hospital and 3 people who have died.

The risks of covid are known. The risks of the vaccine are not.

I'd also prefer to get covid rather than the Vax. As of yet though I've had neither, despite travelling all over the world for the last 18 months!

Edit : unless you mean it's mad that they require a certificate to go places. In which case I'm in agreement with you

Fair enough. However if you’re unfortunate to catch it and be hospitalised how do you feel about taking up a bed that could be used for someone who had no choice in their health…eg someone suffering a cardiac illness or cancer.
I’ll leave it to the Professor to roll out the figures he does regularly to show evidence that the vaccines are having an effect on Covid.

My immune system is unbelievable so that wouldn't happen.

By the same token we surely need to introduce mandatory exercise to keep the obese from filling up the hospital beds

How about the people you give the virus to who may not have as an amazing immune system as yourself?

Maybe not for SARS CoV2, but there will be something out there you are susceptible to. Immunogenetics is the strongest determinant of resistance/susceptiblity.

You only have six HLA alleles. You can't change that. You can't make your adaptive immune system have any more capacity than it already has. You can just maintain function. It will decrease with age, and there is nothing you can do about that. All downhill from 30.

Good point that. We are the fattest nation on Europe.

We take little exercise

Our kids are glued to their mobile

A time bomb ticking loud

About time Governents truly attacked this problem but they won’t as too much money in junk food .

How about restricting Fast Food outlets in deprived areas .

I could ask the same thing to you! There's no difference. If we ever get covid we can both spread it!
If the vaccine masks your symptoms though, it could be argued that you'd be more likely to spread it as I'd be at home until it clears up

Who knows?! And I'm well into my 30s.

It's not really worth worrying about though is it

The vaccine reduces your chance of getting infected. Considerably for a while. As in you don't get the virus. At all.

If you haven't got something you can't give it to someone else.

Yes that is why you are on your 3rd vaccination, because it works so well.

The booster is aimed at maintaining the bodies ability to fight Covid. Funnily enough we have a flu vaccine every year….if you believe in that sort of thing.

Yes every year, not 3 times a year.
