Seeing as most people will be going to pubs to watch football on the TV I think it’s a bit of an own goal to be honest. The match is open air, the concourse where the food and drinks are has a height ceiling and is ventilated from above by the stairwells into the stand and from below from the open doors allowing people to congregate outside the stadium for a cigarette . Far less of a risk than going to a pub . |
Bear in mind there are restricitions imposed on pubs as from Monday
The ventilation in the concourses is not great I am always hit by the smell of stale burnt cooking fat as soon as I get through the turnstile so the change of air is certaily not great
Limited to groups of 6 so only 6 persons allowed to a table..this will restrict the numbers in pubs, track and trace reinstigated in pubs so better chance of "catching" who may be infected so allowing control of isolation
DOnt get me wrong I m not particularly happy about this..but I do see some of the sense..there will be greater or should be control in pubs..they will not be allowed to be "packed to the rafters" ....Masks worn when not seated...table service so less interaction.....none of its ideal but Germany are doing the same and in fact have even more restricition than us...reflected by the difference in vaccination rates. |  |

But that was always going to happen. No virus has never mutated. Was the mass vaccine policy (instead of just over 50s and the medically vulnerable) a mistake? | |
