Michael Laudrup's Swansea City won the only major trophy in our history to date by beating Bradford City 5-0 at Wembley and got us back into Europe.
He may not have been our most successful league manager to date but for the most part his teams were exciting and a delight to watch
Those who were lucky enough to see them will never forget the first game at QPR or the home game against WBA
Wonderful times and a great manager IMHO

No “apparently” about it, he has among the worst league records of any manger in our recent history.

1.13 points per game. I was kind and rounded it up, it’s actually slightly less than that. In his last 35 league games for us which accounts for over half his league games managed he went at less than a point a game. Just shocking.

His poor league management for us is a fact, not an opinion - which is why he was the first Swansea manager to be sacked in a decade. A decent 6 months I’m afraid is not enough to cover for a manager with severe fundamental failings.

I see you had your third thread removed this week. Hope you are going to start behaving soon.

Agree, I’m grateful to any manager that brings about some nice memories. Cooper, Flynn, Molby - you name it.

Unfortunately nice memories doesn’t make someone a great manager. After 6 months here it was rather rubbish bar the odd game.

Indeed being thought of fondly is absolutely fine.

Being described as a great manager however is quite something different, he wasn’t.

The players have spoken enough about his management, was never interested. Last one to arrive at training and the first one to leave is how one player described him.

He has said he finds management boring and it absolutely showed.

There is a reason Swansea City was the peak of his management CV.

Incorrect.

A great achievement by a manager, rather than an achievement by a great manager. Be that for us or anyone else.

He was sacked after 18 months for poor performance. He was anything but great.

Cup win was great though. Sadly 6 rounds, 4 of which against lower league opposition, while going at barely a point per game in the league does not make a great manager.

The second one was removed ( I have on good authority and know is 100% fact ) was removed not because of what I said but another ( unidentified poster - possibly you ? ) said
No third one. I queried that with admin previously and they confirmed that had not happened.
