| If Covid Restrictions Come Back 19:00 - Jul 2 with 2968 views | Jack123 | If covid restrictions come back in the Winter, would anyone adhere to them? I was out earlier today shopping, and I noticed that unmasked staff from a few weeks ago, were now wearing them. Personally I will never wear a mask/muzzle again,. I sense the build up of this, hopefully it's nothing, but we can't go through that again. | |

I would rather be me and die, than some mask wearing worrier, Life is too bloody short, than for anybody to ever go through this again.. I have seen the impact this has had on our teenagers to mid 20's, most are on anti depressants. |
Had we not the nhs would’ve been overrun. We had no choice

Yes we did, we shut down for nothing.. Ruined lives for nothing! Look at us now, back to normal, and Covid is still around. Shutting down, did nothing..

This is true but there were some really stupid decisions made. All those field hospitals set up and not used. The NHS did not have staff to man them.

Or did it create what we have now as opposed to what it could have been ? That’s the issue mate we only know what we know from what we did, not from what we could have done.

Hand on my heart, they were wrong.. 2 years of lockdowns, and still you see it on the news. I guess hindsight is a wonderful thing , but 2 years of masks and restrictions, and still didn't work.

Covid will always be around but at first we had no defence like vaccines so the only option was a lockdown. Believe me my cousin, consultant surgeon down south was scared, he doesn’t get scared. Vaccines saved us all.

They did not have the staff to man mainstream hospitals during the pandemic let alone field hospitals. Fact. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

I’m glad you survived. Unfortunately a lot of people haven’t. Did lockdowns work… we’ll never know in all honesty. How many more would have died if we hadn’t….we’ll never know. What we have to remember is it was, and, still is a disease we have never seen before. You cannot blame anyone for actions taken as no one knew how to react to protect the public. It seems more and more likely to rescue the economy it’ll be down to personal choice as to how you…the individual…act, and take personal accountability for your actions in the future.

"'Did lockdowns work… we’ll never know in all honesty" We know they didn't, wasted 2 years of our lives for nothing. How can it be that this can't be questioned, yet covid is still prevalent. 2 years gone, and no questions asked... Absolute joke.

We know, unequivocally, that lockdowns worked. It is absolutely obvious. I hated them but they were needed and they saved lots of lives.

The lockdowns were to slow down the spread when we didn’t have a vaccine and the nhs were fighting an unknown disease. Covid will still be here and it always will till the world is vaccinated. People are travelling all over again so they’ll bring in new variants. Listen to doctors, virologists and the like who can tell you how vital it was. There was no conspiracy no new world order. It was very real and deadly. With long covid it can be life changing
| If Covid Restrictions Come Back on 09:58 - Jul 3 with 520 views | controversial_jack | Lockdowns saved the NHS from being overrun and save many lives. The problem with listening to scientific evidence, is, that it takes too long to compile. This country insisted on getting it's own data when it should have seen what was happening in other countries. The Uk was a long time behind in this aspect. Countries Like China, S Korea and even Italy should have been listened to, and they weren't | | | |

I agree with that. Hopefully the new variants will be more like a cold. As for long Covid I can tell you first hand how debilitating it is….but at least I’m still around to moan about it!

You mean listen to the doctors who you agree with. Many doctors and scientists have a totally different opinion, many to scared to speak out. If someone wants to wear a mask or stay inside their home that’s up to them, but the vast majority of people don’t want the ridiculous restrictions.

If they're scared to speak out how would anyone know? I agree it should now be personal choice with a large dose of common sense, personal hygiene and a respect for your body will go along way . The thought of more lock downs fills me with dread , its not living just surviving

I can understand the caution in the beginning when it was a completely novel virus and we didn’t know how bad it potentially could be. My frustrations as well as that for many others is that as time went on and people started getting vaccinated the restrictions carried on and even got tighter. Also it became clearer that although this thing may still be higher risk for certain groups (the elderly and immuno-compromised folk), for the huge majority of the population it would be a low risk hugely survivable illness that would just go away in a few days. It just seemed completely out of proportion. And this nonsense about “overwhelming the NHS” just shows what a shoddy state our health services are in in the first place. It should always be ready and able to deal with any sudden health emergency. That’s the point of it. We became complacent and started to think that disease and pandemics were a thing of the past. Also while I’m in the mood for a little rant the cabal of criminals who have been running this show for the last forty odd years have created a system where we are squeezed until the pips squeak through various taxes, NI, Fuel Duty, VAT etc. But when we actually need the services we pay all this money for it’s unavailable. Having a heart attack? Need an ambulance? Sorry we are short staffed due to cuts, one will be along in about 17 hours so just hang on in there buddy. We pay for these services essentially from the day we’re born until the day we die. And yet this money is funnelled out via contracts to whichever entity is donating to the government at the time. And then when things go tits up like they did with covid we aren’t ready for it. The service is “overwhelmed”. But they don’t care, they have their own private doctors. We are being fiddled and rogered like a visitor to a bbc dressing room in the seventies.

You’re not having a good day are you I agree about being rogered well and truly. I think I’d have a better survival chance if I lived in India tbh. Regarding Covid reading the “not going to wear a muzzle” posters, is it so hard to wear a mask in certain situations? If people detest the thought of another lockdown just give a thought to the 5 million or so people who are still in lockdown due to their health conditions. They are the ones I feel for. If it means I have to wear a mask to give them freedom from house arrest I would definitely do so.

The problem with masks has always been that the high quality multi layered proper surgical quality masks which are changed regularly might mitigate the viral load. But 99% of the masks people were walking around with were flimsy bits of porous bacteria ridden cloth that probably had a worse impact on health than having covid did.
