Tugenhat very impressive as is Badenoch, (is Johnson honest ? No (even before question was finished ) Mordaunt struggling after a good start.

Sunak, fined for breaking the law so should not be allowed to stand. Truss, will have Johnson pulling her strings if she wins. Etc Etc Etc

I never have nor will I ever vote Tory but not sure it helps debate suggesting all Tory MPs are slugs. The current cabinet with maybe the exception of Wallace are appalling, but there are decent MPs like Mercer and formally Stewart and Gauke. (I also know Soubrey from my job, who’s also decent) There does need to be a more centrist party, and the way debates are handled like PMQs serve no good. This debate tonight has been excellent, no shouting, no talking over, answering the questions. I agree re Sunak and Truss but the other three are coming across ok. Unfortunately Tugenhat won’t get the votes from MPs. For labour to win, truss will be ideal

I was actually only referring to the leadership candidates and I accept there are a few decent Tory MP's. I don't really understand why they are having these televised debates as there are only a couple of hundred thousand Conservative members who can vote, therefore eliminating almost all of the population. I won't watch any of them for that reason.

It’s important we know what they’re about as one of them will be the PM. Not sure it’s fair to label them all the same if we don’t watch them in action. They may surprise you. Tugenhat was very believable especially when he called Johnson a liar.

We won't find out what they are REALLY about in these debates. These are fake shows to win votes. We will only find out what the winner is like when they take the reigns. I'm still sticking with saying that if I had to choose it'd be Mordaunt with Badenoch as deputy. The big thing is, for there to be the change we need for things to improve then ALL the MP's have to be willing to vote for the changes, we need tighter rules for MP's, a strict code of conduct to prevent ass hats like Bojo rom corrupting stuff again. We need a mechanism to be able to immediately sack any MP who breaks the code of conduct or is found guilty of a crime. I know a ot of them are saying we can't cut taxes but fuel duty needs to be cut right down, temporarily. It will ease a lot of the burden and help slow inflation down. Have any of them suggested that?

Exactly right. They will be whittled down to two by the MPs then 180 000 Conservative members will vote for the next PM not us. Just leave them get on with it snd if we don't like what they do, just vote them out at the next election.
