| Release on Licence on 14:34 - Aug 26 by onehunglow | What's your mentality? Give em cuddles and blame parents schools Tories The System When villains are inside, they are somewhat restricted in what they can do to the general public, ergo,we are safer with them behind bars. String em up brigade eh. Not as good as you then ? |
Many go into prison with no qualifications, skills or prospects and they leave exactly the same. Whilst i believe prisons currently have a few too many luxuries i.e playstations etc they need to provide sufficient rehabilitation and training. Not everone in prison is an abhorrent individual and more effort being put into reforming them will have a benefit on wider society.

The luxuries are a bit of a myth. There’s no top end things there. They do get tvs and things but they’re privileges that have to be earned through behaviour. Breaking rules, gets them removed. All,about trying to control their behaviour, especially during covid when they were locked up 23 1/2 hours a day

I'll take your word for it, you probably have much more experience in the prison than myself. It was just an observation i had made that there were a couple gaming consoles. I can imagine covid wouldve been an absolute nightmare, for both staff and inmates.

| Release on Licence on 20:37 - Aug 26 with 347 views | fbreath | There are people in nick that want to change and others that don’t. Everyone should be given one chance to prove they want to change. A lot of people who get into gang culture come from very sad upbringings and the gang gives them a sense of belonging but doesn’t justify their actions, The biggest problem for them is going back to their old environments they get bored and fall back into the same old crowd and habits. | |

Some, like HMP Berwyn near Wrexham are incredibly modern, phones in cells ( all recorded, limited numbers to families, Sols etc, limited credit) decent facilities for work, education, exercise), others like Strangeways are horrible places, Victorian, massively overcrowded, infested with rats, ) Huge bullying problems, lack of staff. You are right, that on the face of it, why should they have stuff like that, only answer is trying to control and keep a load of men at a level below where there’s violence which is always near the surface, Not sure id last 5 minutes,

Idle hands do the devils work etc. Give ppl full time work and they wouldn't feel the need for crime. We can't deter crime, but we can take away the need for it. That won't happen in a capitalist environment though.
