| Conceding first 08:56 - Nov 2 with 1320 views | shandyjack | We have now conceded first in 11 of our 18 games so far. I know we have shown fight to come back and in in some of those games, but it's a worry habit, especially for a team that doesn't create a hatful of chances. In 5 of those games we didn't score either. | |

I don't think we've started a game with the intent to take a team to the cleaners more than 4/5 times this season so far. [Post edited 2 Nov 2022 9:19]

| Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back. |

That's the annoying thing Doc, we could have had a good go last night, very frustrating.

There is an element of Paul Clement about the way we set up sometimes. We're more interested in containing teams than getting at them. It's annoying as hell.

which I find strange as we have proven time and again, we are not The best defensively, strange we rely on it so much

The problem at the back is Darling can only operate in the middle of the backline but isn’t as effective there as Cabango; Cabango is not as effective when playing left or right in a three man back line but better than other options; Darling cost over £2 million so will be picked; Wood just needs to stop trying to be Mr Twinkle-toes. Time to rethink the three at the back formation imo RB …. CB …. CB …. LB Stevens …. Cabango …. Darling …. Sorinola

Cabango is having a real loss of form. I’m certain he will go to the WC though.

We set up fairly defensively in the first half, in terms of personnel at least, then throw the Ntchams and lateraly Oxos on later in the game. I know we shuffled the pack last night. Latibaudiere has grown on me a lot, but starting with him and/or Sorinola as attacking outlets just leaves me wondering how much damage we could do with genuine wingbacks. A right footed Manning would do.

Not sure about that! On independent stats sites he is well ahead of the others. Only Manning, Fisher and Grimes slightly average higher than him (Fisher having played just 7 games).

Preston were prepared to sit back last night almost from the off. Should have been up and at them. Starting line up didn't help. Hopefully more positive approach starting Saturday

How much damage would we do if we tired using genuine wingers? Why persist with wing backs who are so far forward sometimes they're ahead of our striker? Why not use proper wingers, otherwise why bring Oko-Flex in?

Why use centre backs as wing backs?

| Conceding first on 19:44 - Nov 5 with 841 views | dantheswansman | But in 13 of those games we did score, this team play better under preasure, its as simple as that, when this team are chasing goals they forget all about perfect passes and go for it and that's when we look the most dangerous, if they could only show that urgency without conceding it would be far better, there are so many more goals in this squad if they were not all looking for "the" perfect pass all the time, they are afraid of giving the ball away and that sucks, that last 30/40 minutes today was how i wish they would play all the time, we should have been beating Wigan 5/6 nil not barely getting a point | | | |
