| Ex Swansea City player on trial for assault pleads not guilty on 15:41 - Dec 15 by ReslovenSwan1 | I want x rays of broken ribs and a medical report. It has all the hall marks of football. I remember Gerard arguing it was a foul in the area and a penalty although he was not even touched. A studs up challenge is still a red card even if he misses because of 'intent'. As far as I understand normal law does not work like that. |
I would be very surprised if, at the end of the prosecution case, the defence don’t make a ‘half time submission’ case that the case should end there due to the fact that a ‘reasonable jury couldn’t convict’. The witness here, accepts that he illegally ran onto the pitch and approach McBurnie having previously insulted him. The video footage I’ve seen is very shaky, and doesn’t show what happened. Chances of McB having to give evidence,,I’d say is very low (This is a Magistrates case, so no jury to influence by discussing it) I’d imagine the District Judge will throw this case out. Edit I was halfway right, found not guilty but he did give evidence
