I just had a peep on the Sunderland board to see their reaction today. There was a thread in the ref and although most saw the red a a clear one there were a few who thought it was harsh with one on the Twitter link saying there’s a 50:50 it could be rescinded😂.
If I were a Sunderland fan I’d say he wasn’t a good ref but in fairness he got all th3 big decisions right.
The penalty shout moments before the red was so blatantly a dive he should have been booked.
The ref would have been banned if he’d given that and not given a red (yes I know they were in the same passage of play but you get my point).

If the ref had given that one 10 -5 years ago then he'd have had to have police protection ( dramatic maybe but you get my point) today quite possibly but not given may be down to the overdramatic play acting , he should have been booked for simulation and why Ben was booked for what took place in the aftermath of the melee I don't know. A couple of cheap yellow cards given against us today Piroe and Sorinola which were two really pointless in the scheme of things . |  |
