Jacinda - Jumping before she’s pushed 11:11 - Jan 19 with 3979 viewsJoesus_Of_Narbereth

Jacinda Ardhern is stepping down as PM of New Zealand. She has always enjoyed a glowing, almost saint-like portrayal in the international media but the story domestically amongst her own flock is a very different tale altogether.

Deeply unpopular for her ridiculously draconian covid measures and rocked by widespread accusations of bullying within her own party, mixed with the complete abandonment of pre election promises her approval ratings have hit rock bottom so she’s decided to run away and preserve what is left of the scraps of her reputation before she’s unceremoniously booted out of office.

Not true, the people of Wales would still vote for Drakeford even if he ruined the NHS, schools, roads, tourism, increased Senedd members, introduce 20 mph zones, introduced a minimum Unit Price of alcohol and shat on the steps of the Senedd.

Without doubt.

Looking forward to the condescending Gething leading our country.

No! She is still popular there, although it has dropped a bit, unlike our approach that worked so well didn't it?

So are you saying that she didnt tank the economy by following the zero Covid policy and that it was the correct thing to do

You cant compare the death rate for UK with Australia for many obvious reasons.

I remember the howls of protest from Wales and Scotland every time the English Government moved to lift restrictions earlier than they did. I remember the English Government being proven right every time.

Far, far too much of the response to Covid in the devolved administrations had almost no basis in reality and everything based in looking "tougher" than Johnson.

When the eventual inquiry comes out, they will no doubt deservedly be criticised in a lot of areas, but their eventual rejection of the fearmongering from the likes of Neil Ferguson and SAGE (both varieties) should be vindicated.

As for Ardern, she had a doddle of a job closing down isolated, minimally populated islands and still cocked up the second half of it. Pretty much everything she said she'd do to get elected remains undone. But, media outside NZ loves her so she'll be lauded everywhere else and no doubt make a fortune with books, speeches and other work.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

Well Doc, if they want to compare zero covid policy without any factual basis is ridiculous it would be like comparing Australia, NZ to China as they both had the same zero policy funny that mind.

As for modelling i suggest we are being taken for idiots wherever it is used.

It will be to the perpetual shame of this Government that a failure like Ferguson was allowed anywhere near the decision making for our Covid response.

Time and time again his flawed modelling has proven to be utterly inaccurate and about as useful as barbed wire bog roll, yet time and time again his opinions are considered of serious value.

People are loyal to political parties blindly following to their detriment. Look at the main pair we have at the min over the last 5 years and they are clueless, shamefully dodging to further THEIR own carreers or ego. I would vote for screaming Lord Such or as i have locally before a communist continously if he was making noticable improvements either in Westminster or Cardiff.

In Brexit Trade Deals: Germany will be required to pay for treatment of Measles, and Spain will be required to pay for cases of Spanish Flu. The French will pay for all accidents resulting from kissing & broken letters & the Dutch will split all future expenses 50/50.

To get more children reading, fish and chips will once again be wrapped in newspaper.

The economy didn't tank. It took a bump like most did, but it's recovering now. Economies recover, families don't.

Death rates can be compared per head of populatio rather than the overall population.
