Maybe not but there must be desktop jobs ,as in most professions the younger take over when the older tire , plus every older officer retires and with him/her goes years of experience, how can a kid with little experience of life become a detective because of a degree ,

I’m talking about the benefits culture in relation to where this is really coming from. And we know what that is. To state a child hasn’t paid in to the system and use that as an example is nuts. The system already compensates for this. This is not what the crux of this issue is.

Why doesn't the widespread tax fiddling not raise such anger as benefit fiddling? That's the bigger issue that needs dealing with.

Yeah, the rich and corporations fiddle more in taxes by a long way than those on benefits fiddle.

To right. The way the press present these issues in the media leads to people massively overestimating the amount of benefit fraud and massively underestimating the amount lost to tax evasion and ‘avoidance’.

There aren’t many desk top jobs for cops, years of efficiency savings saw cops who were doing support functions removed and replaced with civilian staff on much lower wages. The days when there were plenty of experienced cops on front line shifts is long gone.
